The voice gave Ladon a reason to pause. He recognized it. He'd talked with this guy on the network. Of course, he had no intention of letting anyone draw conclusions as to the nature of the relationship between the mobster and the monster, so he kept quiet. He did raise his head, though, and kept a cautionary distance, watching the man through the red filter of the overhead lights. He rumbled in response to his question, something akin to the sound a confused dog might make-- if it was the size of a horse and had lizard physiology anyway.
