I'm just a patronizing kinda guy. But in all seriousness, he'd frown at the idea that she could wander into the vast expanse and accidentally get lost (which you have, Heather). Sure, he's not too tore up about people dying around him, but still. He needs the company! And life has value, and all that. Look, does he really need an exact reason why he likes people to stay alive?

Hands deep in his pockets, he steps out--where bedhead is hardly threatening, the pale, red-eyed man looking back might look a wee bit intimidating. Especially in the less lit area. But he'll try to combat that by walking more into the light.
