open;

CHARACTERS: Wanda Lehnsherr ([personal profile] doesthemath) and you!
LOCATION: Whichever bar/lounge is closest to 012 » 168
WARNINGS: Alcohol and potential for recollections of traumatic memories?
SUMMARY: Wanda's grabbing a drink or three instead of moping in her room, making her available to be bugged by and and all comers~

[Generally speaking, Wanda doesn't have a great many bad habits. She doesn't chew her nails, she doesn't leave wet towels on the floor, and no, she doesn't drink to excess.

Tonight, however, she's realized that after two and a half months on board, after a physically and emotionally painful death, she's no closer to coping with what she'd been through before her arrival. Nor is she any closer to dealing with the fact that a version of her father, the man responsible for the greatest traumas in her life, is now also on board. In another time and place, she might have leaned on her brother or a friend for emotional support, but there's no one on board she feels comfortable with enough to rely on them in such a way. Certainly her one attempt to seek comfort from Clint had gone awkwardly, and Tony had acted as if he were handling a live bomb when she'd first arrived.

So she's giving up on trying to cope or come to terms with anything, at least for the evening.

Instead, she's taking a page out of Tony Stark's book and going out for a drink or three. There are only so many nights she can keep to herself in her quarters without company and not go crazy, after all. Comfortable in her crew uniform, Wanda can be found in one of Tranquility's bars enjoying something she's hexed to taste like a cosmopolitan.]

[It's a good gesture, and Donna gives a nod in response to that, understanding.]

Strawberry banana is more to my taste, but good, ordinary strawberry sounds safer. Who knows what sorts of bananas they have here.

[That's what she's going for, yep. She has high class tastes. And she folds her hands after she orders that, tilting her head.]

I think I can understand both sentiments. That, and if you're anything like me, sometimes the current company just doesn't quite provide what you need. Am I close?

[She's entirely right, and Donna just smiles faintly.]

A bit of both, if I had to pin it down. With a healthy dash of womanly intuition.

[and some personal experiences of her own; after all, that's why she's here too.]

[..well, that's an interesting question. And she doesn't really want to talk about the fact that she's just a normal assistant to a high class law firm and therefore has been on the edge of a mental breakdown a few times since arriving here--

But she has a better answer than that, tipping her drink to one side as she observes it.]

I was looking for company myself, honestly. [truth.] Free time split together is less dull than free time spent apart.

[and she makes a face.]

Ugh, so much free time.
