Jack must really want to kill him badly, because he hadn't expected him to keep running right for him like that. He tried to hop backward but he wasn't quite quick enough, and he hadn't experienced fighting at Earth-normal gravity in a long time, either, making the move less useful for escape than it might have been. At the same time he dropped the rifle, letting it dissolve as he reached for his sword, but just then Jack's elbow hit him in the chest, and his back hit the wall. He winced, grunting, then grabbed the hilt only a moment later and slashed at Jack. He was damn quick with a blade; something too many of his victims had failed to realize until it was too late.
