CHARACTERS: Sam Winchester (avengeful) and Arya Stark (wolfchild)
LOCATION: Oxygen Gardens after the Cyllene trip
WARNINGS: IDK Arya will probably call something rude.
SUMMARY: Sam tells Arya he'll help her learn how to defend herself! Cue sparring sessions.
That was all a pretty unpleasant experience (like being almost shot out into space typically tends to be), but Sam's over it. That's the nice thing about being a hunter — wants you leave something behind, you tend to just leave it behind. Sure, there are things that haunt you, but it's not leaving that creepy-ass Cyllene place behind. And now Sam can just deal with his own little issues without having to worry about shadows leering at him in — oh, who's he kidding, he still worries about that, he's on the Tranquility.
Whatever, man. Distractions. Cat wants to learn some hand-to-hand combat; Sam's more than willing to show her how to kick someone's ass. Granted that's more Dean's logic, and Sam just wants her to be safe (or relatively), but still. He finally meets her at the gardens, and technically this is their second meeting for this; the first was just little basic things. Slowly demonstrating certain arm grabs and teaching her what spots on the human body are best for which moves. He taught her the good ol' slap your palms against their ears thing, but he's nerdy enough to actually explain how it's great for breaking up your opponents balance and blah blah blah.
He waits in the garden for Arya with his father's journal as company; he's read it twice already, but there's always little things here and there to remind himself of. And not just his father's handwriting, as sentimental and broken up as he still is. It's good to put all this in his memory banks. Lesson two, he thinks, should probably include some decent take down moves. Something that is good for fast, small people. Sam was there at that point once, after all. Getting tossed around is a great pastime in the Winchester household. Tragically.
