There's no reason to keep Snape pinned like this, except for the reason that he wants to. He wants to, he wants this, because it's an outlet for every other indescribable thing that he's feeling. Familiar, almost safe, taking it out on Snape--he deserved it, more often than he didn't, especially as they got older and Snape got to be more of an evil little twat than he started out as--but even so, there was something slightly vicious in Sirius that would have sought this out anyways. It's not something he often examines. It's an almost savage instinct, almost doggish, something he can't control, but for now, it's enough.
