just a daydream (closed)

CHARACTERS: Yuri & Ilde
LOCATION: Passenger deck common area!
WARNINGS: None???
SUMMARY: Music and face-to-face meetings.

[Judge Petrov's footsteps are rhythmically balanced, echoing slightly as he walks down the long corridors of one of the passenger decks. He is presentable, as always, even when planted upon a space-faring vessel; his dark suit is all neat, clean lines that accentuate impeccable posture. Shoulders back and eyes forward, one would have little reason to believe that he felt any anxiety at all, having been torn away from everything he ever knew.

That was incorrect, of course. He harbored uncertainty and anxiety of varying degrees, as well as an overwhelming amount of frustration -- but he is apt at not showing as much, at keeping a professional air about his person despite what he felt. He was practiced at it. It was an art that became habit, a habit that became as natural to him as breathing. He quite preferred it that way.

And so Yuri, seemingly unmoved by all he sees around him, nearly comes to a halt when he hears music. At first it's merely because he does not expect it -- he had only been accompanied by the impersonal, alien hum of the ship thus far -- but it does not take long before his curiosity is piqued. The notes were pleasant yet haunting, and he thinks to himself how fitting such a sound is for this ship; before he corrects himself, realizing that it was no such thing, that it was a calming sound, whereas the Tranquility ironically inspired nothing of the sort.

He adjusts his route, turning to follow the melody; it isn't long before he finds himself standing at the entrance of one of the common rooms, and he glances around to locate its source.]
