Times are so bad and getting badder | OPEN
CHARACTERS: Eric Northman AND YOU!!!
LOCATION: Around the ship here and there.
WARNINGS: Vampire? Will update if necessary!
SUMMARY: Now that things have settled down once more, Eric is finding himself with free time on his hands once more.
NOTES: An open log for those that I spoke to on the CR meme AND those who would just like to interact with him. Locations include: hallway, gardens, medbay, and for those interested, the "feeding lounge" >> If you have another idea just throw up a comment though and I'll be happy to roll with it!
After the last few months of having to deal with constantly being on edge due to the presence of Morgoth and his servant on the ship, the idea that Eric can actually relax and not have to worry about watching out for himself and his own is a rather novel concept. It's nice, in comparison. A little too nice. If he were a superstitious person, he perhaps would be wondering what horrors the ship had yet to come, consider how pleasant their experiences had been so far this jump cycle. He's not going to question it, though. There's no sense looking a gift horse in the mouth, as they say. Once again, he finds himself falling into a rather normal cycle of life, as it were...
HALLS
Living in the Gardens has its moments, but Erich as lived in darkness for the majority of his existence, and there are times that he craves it. And at such times he finds himself wandering, almost aimlessly. When you do not need to sleep for days at a time, and can easily be reached and get from point a to point b if necessary, it leaves a lot of other time open for contemplation. And boredom, as it seems to be. The hallways all start to blend in with one another after a while. Ah well. Eric sticks his hands in his pockets and slinks along despite himself. Just a giant viking vampire out for a stroll, here, nothing out of the ordinary at all...
GARDENS
Eric lives in the flets with the elves and Godric, and for the most part it's a pretty peaceful life. He enjoys the plants and the trees and especially the artificial sunlight. For a person who has not seen a full day's sun in over a thousand years, as the sun back at home has this nasty habit of burning him to a crisp, it's refreshing to be able to lay out in the warmth of it. And he's got the added bonus of not needing to worry about sunburn. It means that he practically glows in the dark and reflects the light when he does sunbathe, but that's not his problem.
For the moment he's just going to enjoy lying here, in what little he can find of a patch of artificial sunlight amongst the dense shade of the trees, and soak in as much warmth as he can. Just because he isn't affected by the temperature changes anymore, not like he was a few jumps ago when the systems were going haywire, doesn't mean that he doesn't feel and appreciate the sensation of it.
MEDBAY
Eric would really rather not get his blood supply from the bags donated in the medbay if he can help it, but every once and a while there comes a time in the rotation of things where he needs to stoop to it and he finds himself here. There are less donors than there were before. He should really do something about that, he thinks to himself, although every time he and Godric make a call for more there always has to be someone with objections in the matter, and it gets tiresome after a while. Especially the fact that the majority of the objections come from the other vampires on board, those that live in fear and loathing of their conditions or whatever the hell their problems are, rather than the humans themselves that they're supposed to be watching out for or whatever their arguments are. Honestly. He didn't live to be this old by being an ignorant child, and he didn't get there by denying himself the basic necessities either. Even if they sometimes did come out of plastic bottles or bags, when times were tough.
LOUNGE
Eric and Godric had procured an abandoned lounge or two across the passenger's quarters for their own purposes, and every time either of them is in there, the invitation is pretty plain to see. Eric needs blood to stay alive. He is willing to make bargains in order to see that that blood supply stays flowing. People would probably start objecting to him glamouring passengers into this otherwise, even if it would be pretty simple and he's good enough that it could go by largely undetected. He's fairly sure that Godric himself would object, and that in and of himself keeps him following the rules. So he sits on the couch and waits. For his regular donors, for those who would like to start, or for innocent bystanders who might happen to wander in and who he could start up a dialogue with on the matter. With the constant flow of people on and off the Tranquility at jumps, there is always the opportunity to add someone fresh into the pool, as it is.
