Whatever the case was now, he had the same sort of FEELING with Marius's presence as he had accidentally walking into, and through a shadowy woman earlier. Whatever that officer had turned into, it was possible the same thing that affected her was similar to Marius here.
When Eponine mentioned the last of that, Combeferre couldn't help hating the idea, out of more than simply jealousy. It was not RIGHT was what it was.
