alionsheart: (test the timbre of my heart;)

[ When Marian died, Robin initially took comfort in the prayers uttered for her passing, but as his grief continued unabated, it was difficult to find comfort in what felt like hollow words. He certainly wanted her spirit to be in a peaceful place, wherever she was, but he was angry and heartbroken that she wasn't with him, and those prayers eventually lost their meaning for quite a while.

But that time has passed, and he's grown stronger because of it. His heart is more resilient, and in a strange way, he feels he's more hopeful and open to second chances now that he's seen it's entirely possible.

He can only hope that his companion finds the same peace, as time goes on, and if he can help her in that regard at all, he certainly intends to.

Remaining reverent as he reaches the ritual, Robin nods once as he takes the torch, bending down to light the pyre, then standing back. He murmurs a few soft prayers under his breath, wishing her spirit protection and love, and to find a way back to her mother when their spirits are destined to meet again. ]
