There was way way way too much to keep track of in this ship. Ignoring the warnings, because, well, why would she pay attention to the rules anyway, Selina had started to wander off into the ship, trying to make sense of it, create some sort of mental map. She liked those better than anything else, anyway. Real maps could be altered, lie, cover things up. In your head, you could do whatever you wanted to it. It was your map.

If she isn't wandering the halls, Selina is making friends with cats. What she really needed, however, was a cat or twenty of her own. They'd be right at home in her covered-in-pillows-and-blankets room that she'd been creating for the past month. It was easy to grab 'em from other rooms, or lounges. Plus, she'd never had her own place before. What was the point of having your own place if you couldn't decorate it?

The halls are where you can find Newt as well. Sure Ripley wants her to be safe and that but there's exploring to do. Plus she knows better then most about how knowing the layout of a place could save your life.

She does pause when she sees the other girl though. Getting ready to run if she has to.

It's the footsteps that alert her that she's not alone, and Selina reacts accordingly. Her weight is already balanced on the balls of her feet, and she is all about to stop and find herself a place to stop and watch when she notices the girl.

"Hey." She relaxes slightly, moving towards her by just a step. The girl looked somewhere around her age, and she had a thing for taking kids under her wing when they needed it. "You doin' alright?"

Okay no reason to run yet. Newt nods.

"I'm exploring."

"You should be careful then, kid. They say the ships supposed t'be dangerous." Like she didn't need to be careful, either.

She nods again.

"I know but if I don't know what everything looks like, then I won't know where to hide if monsters show up."

Selina considers this for a moment, frowning just slightly. Kid's smart, she had to give her credit.

"What's your name, kid? Mine's Cat."

"My name's Newt."

[testis]

Newt. Huh. So many animals. Everyone seemed to have animal names around here. And then there was this Batman guy that Blake was all about. Ridiculous.

"Nice t'meetcha, Newt. Since we're both headin' in the same direction, let's explore together. We'll have each other's backs." She had a soft spot for her fellow kids. Especially young girls. Which... wasn't actually as creepy as it sounded.

Newt seems to think about this for a moment.

"If a monster comes, you'll run right? You won't try to fight it?"

Weird question but important. She doesn't want to watch more people die because they refused to run like she did.

[testis]

It depended on the monster, truthfully, and the situation at hand. But she could try.

"Yeah. I'll run with you, and we'll get out safe." Sounded good to her. "Here, let's decide on a direction and only take turns in that direction. So we don't get lost." Urban exploring, pretty much.

She nods after thinking this over.

"Okay. How about...right?"

"Sounds good to me." Selina jerked her thumbs towards the first right turn she saw. "Shall we?"

"Okay."

"Let's go." With a nod, Selina began to walk off in the general direction they were heading.

And Newt will keep up.

"Have you been on a spaceship before?"

She's already talked to a boy from past France and she's curious about where everyone is from.

"Before this, no." She hadn't been anywhere before this. She was born and raised on the streets of Gotham. This was something, well, out of this world. "I never wanted to be an Astronaut, anyway."

Selina pauses for a moment, and tilts her head.

"Why? You have?"

"I was on a ship before I came here. We were leaving the planet my colony was on."

Wow.

"Huh. Don't need any special space training or nothing, do ya?"

"No. Not to just travel on it."

[testis]

"Huh." Selina jams her hands in her pockets. "Weird. But sounds kinda nifty."
