let the storm rage on
CHARACTERS: Muscovy and OPEN
LOCATION: Medbay, oxygen gardens, and the corridors/lifts leading from one to the other
WARNINGS: TBA if it comes up
SUMMARY: Muscovy has trained his manifestations. He didn't expect that this would get him haunted by snowstorms. Darn those powerful nightmare leaks.
NOTES: His snowstorms are relatively local and short but also recurring and strong.
I.
Perhaps you are in the medbay, or in the oxygen gardens, or somewhere in-between. Maybe you sit or stand or walk. Whatever you're doing there now is a snowstorm. Howling, tearing on your clothes, cold and biting into eyes and skin, dark and blindingly white at once, a terrifying force of nature, cutting you off completely from your surroundings.
II.
Ahead of you, or next to you, or behind you, you can suddenly hear and feel ...cold. Snow. A very local snowstorm is raging on all of a sudden, the diameter the greater the later into the month it is. Maybe it is moving at running speed down a corridor, or it hovers in the spot in which it started. It certainly is enough that the child at the center of it isn't visible until the storm abates as suddenly as it came, leaving behind
a Muscovy either trying to run from the storm or crouched down to wait it out, looking somewhere between panicked and sad.
III.
Something else - either put your own starter or PM/PP me and I'll customize a starter for you.

Not that he hopes that it does - he indeed hopes very dearly that it doesn't. The look in her eyes surprises him a bit, but pleases him as well - but now he will have at least an idea of what to do. "Why does it do that?"

At his question, she just shrugs. "Don't know. Seems to be connected to whatever's been happening with our heads. Have dealt with similar issues, but not quite as..." She gestures with her good, five-fingered hand in the air, silently indicating the storm now gone.

It just happened and he couldn't do anything about it so it's not like he would worry about it tremendously if it is a possibility, but he'd really rather not have it happen because it was scary. Like catching a cold before you hear about the reasons.
"What kind of issues did you have?"

When he asks what problems she had, her mouth forms into a tight, straight line.
"Um. Tried-- manifesting some clothes." (Maybe. She's being partially truthful, at least.) "They didn't hold together very well. Again, it wasn't quite as bad."

Well then.
"Um, no. It wasn't like that." She pauses. "Don't like the standard jumpsuits here."
Too much material. Too much sleeves. Eugh.

The only problem on the ship is coming by new wool or yarn, but he's working on that.

It's hard making new things you've always wanted to try when you don't know what they taste like. And as someone who's spent nearly a century deprived of that particular sense, it's actually an easy manifestation to mess up. Ever tried making an upside-down pineapple cake that tastes like cucumbers? You don't want to.
