Lately Murphy has been keeping mostly to himself. Most of those he's been in contact with either were department-related people or those close enough to him to be considered family (of which so few are left).
On the plus side, married life has allowed him to value sobriety significantly more. Rather than wallowing about in the bar areas at lounges by his lonesome, he's learned to deal with matters by finding good company instead.
That, and reading.
It wasn't like they didn't have books in prison -- even inmates needed quiet ways to kill time. But Murphy was never much of a reader before to know how to compare the selection in the media library with. Needless to say, it's been... an interesting experience.
Standing in front of one of the myriad selections in the media library, Murphy casually searches for some more time-killing materials as he realizes he's not alone. Canting his head in the direction of the woman, he asks, "Don't suppose you'd have any recommendations?"
Perhaps he's just trying to break his most recent mold and try to stir up casual conversation with someone new. He hasn't done that in a while, he realizes.
