At this point he had heard a couple of different explanations for all of the bizarre things that had been happening in or around the ship, but hearing that the ship itself was rumored to be alive? It was a little bit hard to wrap his mind around that one, let alone put much stock in... he flicked a quick glance over to AJ, curious to see if she was buying this. Then Carlisle was pulling out his journal and his attention was entirely consumed again.
