CHARACTERS: Mattie Ross and Erik Lensherr
LOCATION: the Oxygen Gardens
WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: Mattie makes ill-advised choices in surrogate father figures.
It's been only a brief time since Mattie was released from the care of the medical staff, and although she can certainly tell she's on the mend, she still feels weak and subdued. Grateful that her little campsite, tucked away in a corner of the Oxygen Garden where it isn't in the way of anyone coming to visit or work, hasn't been disturbed, she puts what energy she has to use hanging the blankets and cleaning up. Until some good reason presents itself as to why she should make a change, she's already decided that she intends to stay. The room assigned to her is too alien -- too sterile, too enclosed, too empty.
The man she calls 'Mister Magneto' has promised to check in on her, and she expects him to hold to that promise, else he is likely to find himself being the recipient of a visit and a stern talking-to about honoring one's word.
