CHARACTERS: Wanda Lehnsherr (
doesthemath) and you!
LOCATION: Whichever bar/lounge is closest to 012 » 168
WARNINGS: Alcohol and potential for recollections of traumatic memories?
SUMMARY: Wanda's grabbing a drink or three instead of moping in her room, making her available to be bugged by and and all comers~
[Generally speaking, Wanda doesn't have a great many bad habits. She doesn't chew her nails, she doesn't leave wet towels on the floor, and no, she doesn't drink to excess.
Tonight, however, she's realized that after two and a half months on board, after a physically and emotionally painful death, she's no closer to coping with what she'd been through before her arrival. Nor is she any closer to dealing with the fact that a version of her father, the man responsible for the greatest traumas in her life, is now also on board. In another time and place, she might have leaned on her brother or a friend for emotional support, but there's no one on board she feels comfortable with enough to rely on them in such a way. Certainly her one attempt to seek comfort from Clint had gone awkwardly, and Tony had acted as if he were handling a live bomb when she'd first arrived.
So she's giving up on trying to cope or come to terms with anything, at least for the evening.
Instead, she's taking a page out of Tony Stark's book and going out for a drink or three. There are only so many nights she can keep to herself in her quarters without company and not go crazy, after all. Comfortable in her crew uniform, Wanda can be found in one of Tranquility's bars enjoying something she's hexed to taste like a cosmopolitan.]

But sometimes she does need some her time, and as she's said before, it's "more fun with margaritas". So she's strolling in now, as trim and fashionable as ever in her dress suit, hair and makeup in place. She's gotta do what she can to feel in control of her life in this place, right?
So her heels click on the floor as she sweeps her gaze over the bar--Donna's always, after all, looking to meet new people. She enjoys networking, what can she say.
So she props her hands on her hips when she sees another lovely lady alone with a drink. Either she doesn't want company (doubtful, she's in public) or she's looking for new company. Don't mind her if she just steps close enough to speak without needing to raise her voice awkwardly.]
Well this looks like fun.
[it's gentle ribbing, promise.]

Mm, yes, this particular area of the bar must seem like quite the party.
[Still, she gestures to empty seats next to her.]
You're welcome to join me if you like.
[She could stand to get to know more people on board, after all.]
no subject
Oh, good. I suppose my self-invitation wasn't particularly subtle.
[And then she'll offer her hand for a handshake. Why not.]
Donna Paulsen.
no subject
Wanda Maximoff.
[Her smile broadens a little more, showing a hint of teeth.]
And it's not really possible to be subtle with something like that so why bother?
no subject
My thoughts exactly. Besides, like you said, I didn't want to miss out on the party over here.
[You looked like you could use company.]
no subject
So you like to get in on these sorts of things early.
[So early that they haven't even started...]
Are you drinking?
no subject
Perhaps tonight I will try space's version of a daiquiri. If I dare.
[Space alcohol is surprisingly disappointing.]
But more to the point--it's more that you just looked like you could use some company.
no subject
I'm certainly not opposed to it. I realized this evening that I've been keeping to myself too much for my own comfort, and that I could use a drink.
[She lifts her glass in a gesture.]
And so I find myself here. The question is what kind of daiquiri will you brave?
no subject
Strawberry banana is more to my taste, but good, ordinary strawberry sounds safer. Who knows what sorts of bananas they have here.
[That's what she's going for, yep. She has high class tastes. And she folds her hands after she orders that, tilting her head.]
I think I can understand both sentiments. That, and if you're anything like me, sometimes the current company just doesn't quite provide what you need. Am I close?
no subject
[The question is given with obvious curiosity. If there's something she's doing, she'd like to know, but truthfully she pegs Donna as someone who's going off of what others on board have shared and a well trained gut instinct.]
no subject
A bit of both, if I had to pin it down. With a healthy dash of womanly intuition.
[and some personal experiences of her own; after all, that's why she's here too.]
no subject
And what is it that's brought you here tonight, besides the drinks?
no subject
But she has a better answer than that, tipping her drink to one side as she observes it.]
I was looking for company myself, honestly. [truth.] Free time split together is less dull than free time spent apart.
[and she makes a face.]
Ugh, so much free time.
