SUMMARY: Following the events of this log in which Jack appears and immediately has people trying to kill him until SEC throws them all in jail to separate them.

Despite the efforts of the two Vault Hunters, Jack was not dead. Perhaps had they been more inclined to harm the security officers who had gotten in the way, the result would have been different, but they hadn't; instead, the three had been dragged off to the brig for a few days, and remarkably, nobody had been severely injured. They had been given cells that, while not immediately adjacent to each other, were still within earshot. This clearly would only be a temporary solution to stop their violence, but that, at least, was better than no solution at all.

"Man, that sounded nothing like 'I'm sorry'. You suck at this." Jack sounded offended, but he knew he was getting to her.

"Spew out all the crap you want, Jack. You won't be able to for much longer."

"Oh, is it because you're going to kill me, Lilith? Is that it?" He leaned back against his cell wall, closing his eyes.

"You can try. Oh, boy can you. I don't doubt you will. But you're not going to get the chance, cupcake. I'm going to live a nice, long, healthy life... and there's absolutely nothing you and Bird Boy can do about it." Jack grinned. "I'm invincible. And you know, I could try to kill you and your buddy there before you get the chance to off me... but you know what? I'm going to pass," for now, "because every second I'm still breathing is a second you have to wrap your puny bandit mind around the fact that you didn't finish me off."

That got him a laugh. "Really? And what do you have to go back to? We aren't going to be here forever. All you have left on Pandora is a failed empire and one second to contemplate your wasted life before I finish you off."

[handsomejack]

"That's there. I'm talking about here, fire crotch." Jack grunted. "You know, you kill it when I need to explain it to you. Goddamn idiot."

"At least I use mine," she snapped. It wasn't the most eloquent or witty thing to say, but it had already come out of her mouth and she was going to roll with it. How had Moxxi even dated this guy? She doubted he got very far with her. "I don't even know why I'm bothering to talk to you."

At least she used hers? The hell? Jack blinked. What the hell was she talking about? Her crotch? ... Okay, we're back to awkward. He didn't want to think about her actually getting any. Disgusting. Roland's been in there. He assumed. Ugh. And now his mind trailed to that horrific image.

"Because you want to instill insecurity by spouting out empty threats? You know you can't do a goddamn thing, so this is the best you can do... and I've got to say, it's not very good. I'm not about to suggest Roland was any brighter, but Jesus, he liked 'em dumb."

"You don't deserve to even say his name." There was a slight growl to her voice and she clenched the bars tighter before pushing away from them. "Do you just get off on tormenting people?"

[handsomejack]

"Just you." He spoke, laughing to himself. She just made it too easy to press her buttons. He knew exactly where they were and he was going to push them as much as he freaking could. "My God, it's better than sex. If I could I'd take all that hate, put a ring on it, make sweet sensual love to it, father at least seven kids with it, build a house of disdain with a white picket fence of utter loathing for it, and grow old with it.... I would. In a freaking heartbeat."

She was this close to just phasing out of here and strangling him. Even just cutting his vocal chords would be enough for her. He sure didn't need them. "Why, so you can enslave those seven too?"

[handsomejack]

That, unfortunately, was a quick way to make him mad. His brows narrowed, and his relaxed demeanor immediately turned tense. Jack tried to keep his cool, but his teeth were clenched. "You shut your goddamn mouth, Lilith. You have no idea what you're talking about, and you have a hell of a lot to answer for what with my baby girl's blood in your hands."

That was the button she knew to press and she didn't regret saying it one bit. "You killed her long before we did. I don't care what your excuse is, she shouldn't have been living like that."

[handsomejack]

"I don't need to make any excuses. I did what I had to do, and least of all I don't have to answer to you. It's really none of your business." He hissed, hands closing and gripping on his watch tightly. "You don't hear me asking why you just stood there and let your chocolate boy toy die."

She rushed the bars and kicked them in frustration. "You're the one that shot him from behind like a coward!"

[handsomejack]

"Well who were the bastards that decided it was a good idea to kill my daughter???!!" He yelled back. "I told you pieces of trash what I would do if you hurt Angel. I went as far as begging you to not kill her. BEGGING. Yeah. I tried to reason with you low lives. Did you think I was joking?? She was my daughter!"

Crap. He lost it. He tried to breathe, stepping away from the bars and he glanced down. Would he have killed them anyway if they spared her? Yes. Without a doubt. But that was aside the point. That anger was building up again. They needed to die. Terrible, gruesome, excruciating deaths.

He was a sad excuse for a father and if he was going to taunt her about Roland's death, then she was going to make sure he damn well knew how shitty he was. "A daughter you were pumping full of eridium so you could further your own plans. What kind of father makes his daughter live like that?"

[handsomejack]

He was following through with the no explanation approach. "You know what, Lilith? Blow it out your ass. I don't owe you anything other than a bullet in your skull. If you're still sore about that hole being blasted through your ex-boyfriend's chest, remember you idiots could have avoided it."

"At least he died a man and not a coward."

[handsomejack]

"Fuck. You." Jack knew he didn't handle defeat well, but to be fair-- he had lost everything. And he was a sore loser.

He was done talking but he didn't want her to have the last word. Call it petty, but it was a small victory he wanted to have.

She laughed. She felt like the victor and she wasn't going to let him get the last word in. "That'll never happen."

[handsomejack]

"What, are you closed for business? If so, let me be the first to say thank God." He grunted, rolling his eyes and falling back on his cot.

"And it explains a lot."

"This coming from the guy who dated Moxxi?" Not that she had anything against the woman, but he was the one insinuating she was promiscuous.

[handsomejack]

"The hell is that supposed to mean?" He growled in his breath. God did he want this conversation to be over... but he couldn't not respond thanks to his pride. "Oh, that she gets around? Yeah, well, as if it were any of your business, when we were dating she couldn't get enough of me. Guess I was more than enough."

Of course, he was paranoid that she WAS cheating on him and jumped the gun on destroying her before she had the opportunity to destroy him. Yeah, that was a healthy relationship. "Now, I'm not going to defend that crazy bitch, because she got what was coming to her. You're missing the point. You see, I was implying you're a frigid skag-bag who probably didn't get a poke since Roland's kielbasa, thus causing you to act even more heinous than an average woman."

She was really getting tired of hearing him say Roland's name. "If a dry spell is all it takes for someone to go crazy, that explains what happened to you."

"Oh piss off. Even with you filthy sons of bitches murdering The Sheriff I can guarantee I had more sex than you." Were they seriously having this argument? "I mean if you call a dry spell one day, yeah, I guess that could make a stallion crazy."
