Uncontrollable Telekinesis man, that poor man. When folks see him they run just as fast as they can.

CHARACTERS: Some kid from Silent Hill and... hell, all our Looper bros.
LOCATION: Ship halls, Tuesday 'night'.
WARNINGS: Violence, blood, injury. Usual stuff. Tsk, tsk, Cid.
SUMMARY: Don't have a misunderstanding with the Rainmaker kid.
NOTES: The prequel to this post, in which Alex is McFucked-Up.

Alex had a lot to avoid, lately, and therefore a lot more reason to 'do his job' when it came to security; it wasn't exactly the most difficult occupation for him aboard the ship: patrol the halls, make sure nobody was getting themselves maimed, A+ on the report card. Of course, even with all his pacing, he can't just throw out the fact that he's trying to walk away from his problems. His friends--er... family. Guess there's no denying it, they're all family. How else could they all get so pissy with each other so fast?

Sometimes though... He wonders if that's the right thing. Finding family in a place like this.

Maybe--it's a mistake. One that'll haunt him sooner or later. He's already lost one family, even if it was excessively broken. Now he's losing friends, soon it'll be the rest of 'em... it's a scary thought. One he thinks of in the privacy of the empty, dimmed corridors.

Just do your job, Shepherd. Don't pry too deep into the MVA that is your mind.

Cid gasps and brings his hands up and out in front of him as he takes it in--storming off, angry, he comes face to face with a man. Not a man, but one reaching for something a five year old has seen far too many times: a gun.

And then Joe. Joe, his hands up, cautious, careful, and Cid doesn't quite gasp so much as opens his mouth, terrified. He takes a few steps back, stumbling, and then trips on his feet in his hurry to find Sara. Bashes his head against the hard floor and when he looks up he still sees Alex and his gun and all he can think is the word no.

So he screams. No sound comes out until there's a screeching high pitched noise, like metal on metal and it happens. Things began to rise, coming out of pockets, floating to the top--Cid's communicator is one of them, as Cid is the only thing that remains grounded. He's still staring at Alex but not quite staring at him. He's staring at his gun.

The gun floats up as well, removed from Alex's hand but something else happens--something bad. Cid has begun to unconsciously apply pressure to Alex's organs as he floats by the ceiling, helpless.

She lets him go. Any other kid, and Sara would be nothing short of a neglectful parent, but this is Cid, and he's upset, and she knows what that means.

It means he's as dangerous as anyone - or anything - he might run into in the hall right now. She knows Joe is nearby, knows Joe knows to get out of the way when he's like that. So she's going to let him go. Right up until she hears the commotion, and - shit. It can't - he can't - not now, not again, not ever.

She's up, and running, but the force of Cid's power slams into her, knocking her against the metal wall. No no no nonononono... Not again.

Her head hurts where she bashed it, but she doesn't even pay any attention to that. "Cid! Cid!" She calls his name, hoping it's enough, hoping she can talk him down from it, like she had back home, back in the cane field, please Cid calm down. "Cid, baby, please..." She can't look at the man floating in the air, afraid to see what he's done this time.

Joe's about to tell Cid that it's okay, nothing's going on, but the words don't come out in time. His first instinct is to rush over to the kid, especially when he falls back and hits his head, but Joe knows better by now. He knows that if he doesn't move, fast, then he's going to wind up like Jesse, like Sara's sister. And so, he goes against instinct, turns tail and moves out of the way as fast as he can. It works, barely. Joe's knocked off his feet by the force of Cid's powers, and he skids against the ground, hard. It takes him a moment to find his legs again, and once he does, he turns towards the commotion, sees the man up in the air, gun floating up there with him.

"Cid, no!" he calls out, but he doesn't move any closer. He's not sure what'll happen if he tries to, if he even can. He sees Sara and fixes his gaze on her, hoping she'll be able to talk her boy down.

He looks to his mother--hears her, somewhere in the fuzzy echo of what is happening and what needs to stop. he knows he's doing something wrong--and he's crying as he tries to fight it, tries to stop all of the thoughts and tiny little spikes in his mind from going out. Tries to contain them as hard as he can.

For a brief--brief moment--it works. There's a flickering of the lights as Cid sniffs, but then Joe calls out and Cid knows he's done something wrong. It's because at his core he doesn't want the other to think he's bad--think he's a disappointment. Sara he knows will forgive him, Joe he's not sure.

Alex gets flung against a wall in the turmoil, no doubt one of those broken ribs pushing into his lungs.

Cid can't take his eyes off of it.

Sara feels the pressure drop, feels when it ends, hears the man hit the wall, then fall to the floor with a sickening kind of meaty sound, and then she just runs, grabbing Cid around his middle, pulling him close, pulling him away from the sight.

"Cid, baby, don't look, okay?" She raises her eyes, avoiding the man on the floor for the moment, looking for another person. "Joe!" She doesn't say anything else, just looks between him and the fallen man, as if to say - is he dead? can he be saved?
