While he has never forgotten how old his father is (..because he's never actually known exactly how old his father is), it's still unnerving to be reminded of it. And it's reliving to see it fall away, as if it was never there. Mildly relieving.

"Will you?" Mother isn't here to heckle them, and Thranduil won't heckle himself. Legolas isn't heckling, though. "When you need to."

He's just.. nudging. With a mildly mollified smile and a pile of fruit that Thranduil clearly would not eat all of in a single sitting.
