NOTES: April 28 onwards.
An emergency shuttle bay is found tucked away above the 50th passenger floor; holding only two transport shuttles and a network console, it contains the final evidence of the pirates' work. Here, large amounts of the equipment and items they looted from the Tranquility are piled up: some waiting, some already packed up into storage crates for transport onto the Scylla— and some, though not much, already stored away on board. How they came aboard is made clear now by the two holes cut through the metal of the hull-side wall— the openings connect to docking tubes, which provide an easy route onto the Scylla herself. On the wall above is a message left in red: And with the jump fast approaching, it might be best to take heed... |

When he peered back out, ready to fire, Jack was nowhere to be seen. There weren't any obvious hiding places either, though admittedly he'd only had a glance, but he knew the man had that cloaking shield and how he loved to use it. With that in mind he swapped to the Volcano, figuring the cloud of flame that ignited around each bullet might have a better chance of searing off that shield, wherever he was. "You got two seconds to turn that damn cloak off, or I'm gonna start shootin' all your fancy equipment in here," he threatened, then leaned out again to fire at where he'd seen Jack last.

"I got what I wanted. Shooting some of this fancy equipment? That's just a death wish." He grinned, turning a dial on his shield. The cloak went down and three Jacks manifested themselves, all aiming. "Not that picking a fight right here right now isn't." Two Jacks started to shoot, and the third worked to weave ahead through the crossfire.

This exact scenario, unfortunately, was probably the only one in which he felt he didn't have an obvious upper hand. Usually he had the element of surprise and the advantage of distance, and a bird who knew just what to do couldn't hurt. Instead he was outnumbered in close quarters, and more concerned for Mijo's health than he was used to having to be. A couple hip-shots from the rifle got rid of the fake doubles quickly, but his shield had sustained a few direct hits, and when one bullet actually managed to graze his side, he had to take cover again and begin that painful wait for the recharge delay. Jack could just create more doubles, though. He wasn't sure how that aspect of the man's shield worked - what was the cooldown? Was there a limit to how often or how many? Without any ability to predict it, he was torn between his usual cautious fighting style and one that might end things quicker, even if he took a shot or two in the process. As long as Jack was dead by the end and he wasn't, he didn't really care how many bullets he had to take.
But for now he forced himself to wait a few seconds. He'd already waited weeks, after all.

He took a risk with his shield. If he could get up close and personal he might have a better chance against Mordecai. Jack turned the corner where he saw his enemy duck behind and moved to check him against a wall with his elbow.
