SUMMARY: Dean meets Chuck as she is baking pies in the kitchens.



[Being in the kitchens was typically part of Chuck's routine these days in between beekeeping in the gardens, going to the library and of course spending time with Ned. Sometimes with how she lived back home most of her life, Chuck liked to be up and about even if if at times it was just to keep herself busy while on the Tranquility.

The kitchen was fairly quiet as she was the only one there but it gave her enough space to just have her various baking supplies and ingredients in front of her without worrying about getting in someone's way. For now she was just going to get started in making her cup pies as well as a few regular sized pies so for the next few hours she can be found being a bit preoccupied with that should anyone find her there]

[ things are finally taking a quieter turn in dean's every day space life, which leaves him with time to wonder about the hallways before his patrol shift. with the mess created by jo and meg, his brother growing ever more paranoid about the future, and people dealing with their own shit left and right, dean more than welcomes the quieter change of pace.

he doesn't know what causes him to poke his head into the kitchen as he's passing by though, only that he does and is stepping inside within seconds of doing so. maybe the quiet sound of people within, or just plan curiosity, but what he sees leaves him glad he did. ]

[ what are manners. don't mind him though, baking always catches his attention, and it's a nice stop on his little patrol mission. ]

[Hearing someone enter the kitchen as she is working away, Chuck looks up and just smiles because company isn't something she minded in the least right now] Oh— well right now I am actually making some pie.

[ oh, she gets a smile when she looks at him, because hello, cute. ] Really? [ he eyes the ingredients for a minute, and then her again. ] Was startin' to think only a few people 'round here even know what that is, y'know.

[She just nods, laughing slightly at the comment] I think that just depends on who you talk to. I worked at a pie shop back home so I'd kind of have to know what it is and how to make them.

Pie shop? [ music to his ears. especially when pie shops were few and far between in dean's life, even with all the traveling he does back home. he looks ready with another question, but then ends up ditching it with a shake of his head. ] Sorry, uh-- name's Dean.

Yes, that's right! I was mostly just helping out my boyfriend who owned the place. [Well it was mostly unoffically due to her circumstances but what are details. She takes a few of the ingredients and starts mixing them as she continues talking]

It's okay— [Honestly she didn't mind the questions at all, she smiles though when he introduces himself] My name is Chuck, it's nice to meet you, Dean.

anyway, dean watches her hands for a moment, only glancing up at her every now and then. as cute as you are, this is actually kinda interesting. ]

Chuck, huh? Nice. Now the real question is, why the heck haven't you two started a pie shop on this ship? I mean, we're all missin' out.

[well if she didn't making pies right now wouldn't be a thing.

chuck just smiles at that though. she is just finishing up mixing up the ingredients for the pie crust when she goes to grab a cupcake tray because these are going to be cup pies she is making] Well aside from the kitchens, I'm not too sure what could be a good place to set that up.

I think we've both mentioned taking orders a couple of times over the network while we've been here but if the bar counts, Wichita made an arrangement with Ned to have his pies added to the menu there too.
