[ closedish ]
CHARACTERS: Jo Harvelle, Annabeth Chase James Potter and more
LOCATION: all over the place!
WARNINGS: can range from gore to psychological things to fluff
SUMMARY: these are my planned empathy links for October, taking place between october 11th through november 7th.
NOTES: this is closed to plotting, but I am still open if you would like to get in on this. my plotting post is here, so leave a comment there and we can make it work.
Because of how behind I am in general RP-terms, I am bowing down and kissing the ground you walk on and asking if you could possibly maybe PLEASE do the starter, if we have pre-plans with our characters. I know everyone's busy and everyone has a life but this would help me IMMENSELY like you don't even know.
HOWEVER, I have no problems with doing the starters if you're having problems with writing them up or coming up with something, so please let me know through plurk
disarmingly if you'd prefer I did the opener, which is totally fine! Really! I'm just so behind and I don't anyone to have to wait on me for the start of things.
Also let me know if I have mixed something up or if I misunderstood something with the plotting. c:

Hallucinations don't have to feed you your own thoughts. They can just make you think they thoughts you're thinking are your own. [ the smile lydia has on her face really shouldn't be there but guess who knows all about hallucinations? THIS GIRL. she doesn't miss a beat actually walking into the room and as soon as the door shut she ends up grabbing annabeth's hand. ] So, do I want to know what you got from me?

annabeth visibly relaxes then, the headache that had been pressing against the sides of her skull calming almost instantly. gods, so that's what not being in constant pain felt like. ] They were all that bad. [ her opens her eyes again, meeting lydia's. ] A lot of school things, mostly. [ is that a hint of a smile, there? probably. goes away soon enough. ] Someone names Peter. And uh- the bodies.

the tension that lydia had felt in her head and in her shoulders feels like it's gone as soon as annabeth's hand joins hers and lydia doesn't bother to hide the pleased sigh that escapes her lips. ] School things. I would have been fine if it stopped at that. Please, you can make the genius comments if you want.
[ it's actually said a bit like she wants to hear it before she hears the rest and frowns. ] Since you're in my head you already know I didn't kill— any of the bodies. [ peter, now, him she did kill. ]
You had a reason for mentioning a hallucination being controlled by someone else. [ it sounds accusing, but if annabeth saw the hallucinations— it makes lydia's stomach twist in knots she wishes would go away. ]
no subject
Yeah, I'm sure you would have.
[ and she's so not going there. not at all. so she'll stare at lydia fairly easily until she decides to continue, the easy air sticking around, seemingly unfazed by the mention of the bodies. she does shake her head, though. ]
No, you didn't. [ a beat, and then she nods. ] I saw what he fed you, hallucination-wise.

[ what she really means is i am so pleased i can dangle my intelligence to mock, but details. she can't help the way she ends up biting her lip just a little bit as they continue to talk, because this isn't— this is bad enough with just someone else's memories involved, what did peter's stuff actually feel like to other people?
inception lite or something? ]
Those were fun, weren't they? [ she sounds bitter and feels just angry about it before she continues. ] This is going to sound so weird, but how did that even feel? It makes me think of a very aggravating rabbit hole when I think about it.

[ but she's smirking a little, because intelligence deserves to be noticed. at the same time, she sees what the behind the scenes is really like, and watching lydia react to having annabeth know is...
interesting. ]
Wouldn't say fun. [ though she can't say much more than that. having the feeling of learning you've been used, fed information to believe one thing to find out it was the other- annabeth frowns a little in that how do I words kind of way. ]
Honestly? It felt like when I got here. Thinking one thing and finding out something different is happening to people you know. [ with, of course, that one difference. ]

[ it's said with a small feeling of sadness before she sort of brushes it away. it's not that she doesn't enjoy being smart and showing it off sometimes, she just knows what it can sometimes mean. ]
Sarcasm, Annabeth. [ she doesn't look at annabeth when she says it and only when she continues does she look back at the other girl. ] Out of place and like it couldn't be real?
no subject
[ and where lydia would rather hide that part about her to get to a certain place in life, annabeth doesn't care. her intelligence is her everything. ]
I know, Lydia. [ god, you underestimating her ability to read sarcasm is rude. ]
Yeah. Couldn't, because if you can't trust your own brain then what can you trust? But it still did.
no subject
[ the things that matter to her are worth it. she knows how the world works and how she has to act to fully get it to work with her. it's a thing. ]
You can't trust a thing if you can't trust your own brain. And yet, you kind of have to try somehow.
no subject
[ go on and make the science joke, lydia, cause that's what annabeth is waiting for. ]
It's your only option, really. Trusting in something you know you can't.
[ she says that last bit a little wistfully, like she's trying to wrap her head around it and having a hard time. ]
no subject
[ annabeth is an asshole, txt it. ]
That's not an option. That's hoping things work out well when you put your trust in something like that.
[ which is to say, it's the exact opposite of what she likes. ]
