[Closed] An Awkward Brunch
CHARACTERS: Nomi Sunrider and the rest of the Star Wars cast
LOCATION: Holodecks
WARNINGS: Language and possible Roomba on Roomba violence
SUMMARY: There are a lot of folks from the same galaxy who've decided that it's time for all of them to meet. And have brunch.
It's been a few days since Nomi's suggestion and she's taken the time to pull together a simulation on one of the holodecks. It's not much, just a simple stateroom with a simulated view of the Coruscant skyline (circa BBY 3992 sadly), with tables for people to eat and talk, a long row of trays for self-prepared dishes, and all the little holographic creature comforts that people from a Galaxy Far Far away might want. Have some familiar food, point and laugh at Solo, and try and be nice to the folks in the Old Republic Corner...
[OOC: I figure everyone can put up comments of their own and tag around that way. It'd be easier than massive threads, and lets the awkward slowly spread around.]

Either way, though, she shows up mostly because she said she would but also because, really, why not? Even if things turn awful, it should make for an interesting time.
She even brought food. An air cake. It's one of the very, very few things she knows how to make that's edible and, despite limited supplies, has managed to come up with ingredients that make for pretty good facsimiles of the real ones. She made two, technically, but one was used solely as a taste test and she opted to leave what remained of it in her room. The other one, though, she takes to the table as soon as she comes in before casting a glance around.
The image of Coruscant is one she barely recognizes, one she's never seen except for in holos, and almost immediately it draws her full attention. Everyone else have fun, you guys, Jaina's just going to stare, a bit slack-jawed and in obvious awe, at an image that's been so riddled with change, and war, by her time that she only just barely knows what she's even looking at.

And, well, he would never know Jaina, if things weren't completely strange. So he should make the most of it. "She's done an impressive job, hasn't she?"

The skyline isn't quite the one who knows, of course. But there are enough key features for it to be quite familiar all the same. Enough to make him smile as he sets the dish down.

She hopes that for the most part everyone gets along, but genuinely doesn't think that Han will actually turn up. Or really most of the Jedi for that matter. Not that she doesn't have faith in their ability to pull together in a crisis, more that they all seem to be more interested in doing their own thing most of the time. Which is commendable, after all. Initiative is important.
Whenever people arrive she greets them with a warm smile, gesturing to the table and helping them with anything they've brought. And she may or may not be staring a little wistfully at the skyline throughout the meal.
Home...it's so far away.

Out of her element, she was, but thankfully, she was good at adapting. She could, and would adapt.
That being said, she arrived with drinks as promised, and nothing else. Mara knew the basics of cooking, and knew to feed herself. Anything more, and they were looking for a miracle. She certainly wasn't going to cook for anyone else. There were better things they could be eating, anyway.
Drinks, surprisingly,y, were non-alcoholic, even. Something that was probably a miracle, especially considering who would be here.

Though that didn't really narrow things down at all, given those not from his time ranged from those thousands of years before him and, well, his granddaughter. "I don't believe we've met."

She didn't let the recognition hit her face, instead, leaving it pleasantly neutral. "I don't think we have. Mara Jade, and you are?" she asked, holding out her hand for a shake.
At least she'd also been given the ability to lie. No need to let in how much she knew. That wasn't something anyone wanted to hear about.

He extended a hand. "Bail Organa, of Alderaan."

"So I guess this means we're from the same place, in some form or fashion. I'm familiar with Alderaan, at least. Nice to find someone who's probably familiar with the same starcharts that I am, at least."

wow i butchered that dialogue up there my bad
Then again, the fall of the empire had essentially guaranteed that one.
"Seems like there are a lot of us from the core worlds."
