CHARACTERS: Jim Kirk & Raven Darkholme
LOCATION: theee pool.
SUMMARY: Raven's kidnapping Jim and shoving him in the pool, because she can. And because it's fun!
NOTES: Backdated to 4/11, after Jim's network post.
For anyone that's just tuning in, Raven has given Jim Kirk a two hour deadline for getting all of his captainly things in order before she plans on kidnapping him. She thought that was a fair warning, a decent amount of time to allot for that sort of thing, and now she was making good on her promise.
She doesn't really know how this is going to go, how she even wants it to go, but she does know for certain that she could use the distraction just as much as she claims Jim does. Having Charles and Alex on the ship is a good thing, there's no doubt in her mind that it's a good thing. But complicated, yes. Her memories are different than theirs, for whatever reason, and that makes it trickier than it needs to be. According to those memories, Raven has missed out on some huge events and changes, the kinds of things that someone shouldn't just forget. But then, she's been here longer, so maybe there's a reason for the differences. She can't figure out how she feels about any of it though, and she hasn't talked to Erik since before the last jump, so she hasn't had anyone to talk to about it all.
Which is why this distraction, bugging Jim with her need to be ridiculous in the face of responsibility, is definitely needed. Yes. Absolutely necessary. It wasn't anything like running away from her problems at all, no.
She's wearing a shift when she knocks on his door, hidden behind that "normal" mask of hers, but there is a reason for it. Mostly. Again, she really has no idea what they'll end up doing, but she has a vague plan, and that includes her needing to wear a shift for now.
"Your time's up, I'm afraid." Her voice is a little sing-songy, and she's even rocking forward and back on her heels with excitement. "I suggest you come out willingly, because I will use force if necessary."

Honestly it'd probably be weirder if you did ask.
But you know, if you get to look then so should I. [and despite the words, his voice lacks the lewd tone he'd normally throw at a girl. instead, his smile is encouraging.] Fair's fair.

now is when she would just kiss him. now is when she would flip the switch, less talking more showing, but instead she'll play it safe(..-ish), keeping their faces close but her eyes on his instead of his mouth. even if that's all she's thinking about now. her voice is quiet, challenging sure, but that underlining can I? is very much apparent; ] You're sure that's all you wanna be doing?

he isn't blind to what she's asking, and if he's honest, his chest aches with the desire to complete the jump. to take that last step (like he always does) and draw her into his talented arms. into his bed. but he keeps it at bay.
he isn't sure why.]
I just want you to know you're safe around me. [he dodges instead]

Of course, I know that. [ she turns her face to give him a loud kiss on the cheek, wraps her arms around him a little tighter like she's just been wanting to hug him this whole time. behaving isn't in Raven's dictionary, but if it were, she thinks this would be the shining definition of it. ] You're my capta--our captain. I trust you.
[ she makes sure he catches her smile before she tugs away completely, dipping back under the water and letting herself sink for a bit. she gives herself exactly four seconds to blow bubbles and shake her head, as if that releases whatever tension she was feeling a second before, then kicks off towards the edge of the pool, space, self control, space being her motivation in putting some distance between herself and Jim. ]

he paddles idly after her, lazy, floating in the water and enjoying the feel of it against his skin.
he had to admit. it was a pretty damn good break after everything that had been going on lately.]
