CHARACTERS: Elizabeth, Ellie & Tess
LOCATION: The Oxygen Gardens
WARNINGS: Spicy language (thanks Ellie/Tess)
SUMMARY: Three girls walk into a garden to do some dealing.
NOTES: N/A
[Ellie didn't mention to Eizabeth that she was planning on bringing back up, but given the events in engineering and directly after the jump she's not really feeling the whole 'meet with a stranger at a specified location' thing - not without knowing that someone has her back. Tess had been the first person she could get her hands on and, from what Ellie could remember, Tess seemed like she could talk pretty smooth if she wanted to. If ammo's on the line, Ellie doesn't want to risk pissing anyone off. Sorry, Joel.
Arriving at the Oxygen Gardens with Tess in tow, Ellie makes for the first immediately obvious clearing to wait for Elizabeth to show. Despite the assurance that a trade wasn't necessary from the girl, she has one of the magazine Bran Stark brought by last jump. It's mostly still in tact save for a few pages in the back that had been stripped for the sake of making decorations; she's currently absently rolling and unrolling it in her hands.]
She might not even have the right caliber.
[But it wasn't the worst idea to have ammo lying around either. If Elizabeth was just giving it away--]

But she'd demanded to see the conversation first, to see if she could suss out anything crooked about the offer. It didn't seem so, even though someone offering something for nothing tripped off every warning bell in Tess's brain. Apparently it did the same for Ellie, if the magazine was anything to go by. Still, she wasn't about to let the girl go off on her own, not if she was asking for help. And it's not like she had anything better to do- plotting out the safe areas of the ship only burned up so much time in the day.]
Can't hurt to try. Besides, either way you'll end up with a better bargaining chip than scrap paper.
[Her tone is mild and her posture seems relaxed enough, her hip propped against the nearest tree. But her arms are crossed a little too tightly to be really at ease, and her eyes are trained towards the entrance of the gardens. Old habits die hard.]
SO LATE
So Ellie and Tess would soon notice the girl approaching them, blue dress and all as she calmly walks into the Gardens. She's not carrying anything with her, but when you can mess with time and space, inventory isn't really a thing.
There is a thing though, which she points as she sees the two women. ]
I thought there would be only one person. Are you here to trade?
[ Maybe she should have called Booker. ]
NEVER LATE
Which might be more effective if she weren't still twisting the magazine in her hands or if she weren't frowning so hard.]
You're the person with the ammo, right?
no subject
Not hard, in the presence of Tess and Ellie.
Still, she keeps her eyes trained behind the girl more than on her, aware that just because she can only see the one person doesn't mean there aren't others lurking around. It's why she's there, after all.]
Just looking out for my little sister. [The lie comes easy and smooth, accent a little thicker than usual. Maybe not entirely believable in her own time (imagining any person still making kids for the twenty years that separate them) but Tess can flatter herself sometimes.
Besides, she wasn't going to pull the daughter card. Not in a million years.]

Elizabeth takes a moment to frown at them. Yeah, Booker would definitely flip his shit and scold her from not knowing how to conduct a negotiation, or to expect the other side of be entirely trustful. At ant case, she doesn't feel animosity coming from them; wariness maybe, but she can't honestly blame them. ]
Very well.
[ Sighing, Elizabeth looks around, eyes looking for something that doesn't seem readily apparent. A moment later she seems to find what she's looking for and heads towards a couch, arms extended as she seems to plunge her hands into something invisible. Grunting a bit, Elizabeth outright rips the air around her hands, the Tear become clear as it opens and expands for a moment, a room become visible through it, a bed full of rifles and ammo can be seen. Elizabeth's room. She pushes the edges a bit, and the Tear bends and sizzles for a moment before vanishing, yet leaving the cache on the couch. Hands on her hips, Elizabeth turns to the pair. ]
That's all I have found so far.
no subject
Which means when Elizabeth does... whatever it is what she does -- opens a hole? A door? Ellie's not even sure what she's seeing -, she's on edge. Sharp and nervous, something riding high in her chest. She barely even notes the cache of weapons and armor.]
Hold on-- what the fuck was that! [Ellie shoots a glance back to Tess.] You saw that right? [And quickly flicks her eyes back to Elizabeth.]

The girl does a- a thing. Plunges her hands into the air but the're not in the air at all- somewhere else. She shouldn't believe her eyes, but she knows better than to act like being crazy was any defense, has seen enough since getting here not to assume it's a trick.
So instead she goes tense and sharp, knees bending a fraction and hand at the small of her back in no time flat. Leaves it there even when the- whatever it is- goes away, leaving a pile of ammo and other shit that in another live Tess would have killed for.
Had killed for.]
Yeah, I did.
[Her voice sounds deceptively calm, though she has to be as off-foot as Ellie is] You want to tell us what the hell that was?
no subject
She still feels like eye rolling until her eyes get stuck anyway, but instead sighs and puts on her best expository stance. ]
That was a Tear, I can open them and connect to places through time and space. The ship is blocking me from using them at full power, but I can still connect two places I've been before on the ship if I find the right stop. Apparently the right spot to connect my bed to here was that couch.
[ She's going to let that sink in for a few moments. ]
Did you think I was going to carry all that by myself? I keep finding little Tears around the ship with ammo and weapons just like I did back home, but considering Booker hasn't been shooting things as much as before, we have a surplus. [ A beat. ] You two are very distrustful of people, but we aren't going to get anywhere if you think everyone's out to get you at every step of the way.
no subject
She's not sure the explanation is satisfying - sounds like bullshit, though fuck it cause they're on a space ship aren't they -, but she's got bigger questions to ask like:]
You're really just going to give this shit away?
no subject
[She's not exaggerating, but she has relaxed by degrees, hand drifted away from the gun tucked under her waistband and taking a few steps closer to the new-found cache of weapons. It's an impressive haul, and she can't quite keep herself from getting pie-eyed over it. But she's not about to go digging through it first off. Instead she'll hang back a bit, keep her eye out and let Ellie navigate the conversation.
Hell, it was her deal, after all. Tess would have killed for her own first to have been this lucrative.]<./small>

[ Plus she's terrible at negotiating. Elizabeth turns to Tess. ]
That sounds- a bit unhealthy, but I guess you are entitled to it, as long as you don't start shooting me for trying to help.
[ That said, she's going to take a step back, motioning them to check the weapons and ammo. And, you know, not shoot her. ]
no subject
[Which: hypocritical much? There's a note of impatience to her voice as Ellie moves in, taking advantage of that space Elizabeth's allowed to get a good look at the stash of ammo and weaponry. Most of it looks like ship stuff, but some of it seems more familiar. She paws through the ammo, inspecting the caliber with a practiced eye.]
no subject
So, everyone where you're from rip holes in the air?
[It's meaningless small talk, but it might take Elizabeth's attention away from how brusque Ellie was being.]
