Hermione gets a ribbon for collecting 5/5 wizards.
Not impossible, Ms. Clearwater, but he's only joking. He doesn't actually want to think about what sort of person might go through the effort of hiding from all of them. He takes a step back in the direction he was first walking, then pauses; he isn't walking away, just inviting Hermione to walk with him.
"I was on my way to the kitchen, if you'd like to come."
He was on his way to the kitchen on the floor beneath them, technically, having just left Lily napping in her room, but he doesn't think anyone will object to him using the one on the thirty-second floor instead of the thirty-first. He only wants something to drink, anyway.
/victory fanfare~
I'd use another name.
"Alright." her voice was less than stable as she followed him, "There are so many rooms and floors on this ship. Someone, technically, could be hiding."
Her stomach was in knots, yet the sensation of her wand pressed to her arm gave her confidence.
"Were you visiting...Lily?" it was strange to say her name, "I can't imagine what she has been through."
no subject
As for Lily—he can't imagine it, either. He knows what happened, he saw the rubble of their house in Godric's Hollow and their bodies in caskets, but that doesn't mean he has the first idea what it's like for her.
He's beginning to think the ship or whatever is in charge of it has a sick sense of humor.
"She's hanging in there," is all he says, turning into the kitchen. It's massive but empty, and he smiles at Hermione once, sad and sympathetic, before he begins searching through cabinets for tea. "Have you two been talking?"
