NOTES: Please feel free to start threads with whatever! I wish to rp all of the things and Lily is criminally approachable, so if you want to have someone bump into her or leave an opening for her to say hi, I'm down for whatever.


Lily doesn't leave her room often. It's ostensibly to rest and make sense of things, but she simply doesn't think to go anywhere. She lays in bed and tries to sleep, thinks better of it, and spends hour upon hour going through network archives instead. Being busy keeps her mind from drifting back home to where everything went wrong.

'Not often' is not 'never,' all the same - she has to leave to get things to eat and drink, do washing up, and eventually media library holds enough of a pull that she heads out to investigate it and returns to her room with too many things loaded into a data pad to be able to go over in days, though she's determined enough to try.

(One day she considers trying to relax by swimming but rethinks it at the last moment, does an about-face near the rec area and heading back toward her room.)

She doesn't linger long enough in the kitchens to make entire meals but she does snack while she makes up her tea before disappearing once more into the halls again.

She wanders them enough to get a general idea of the layout enough, and not just on her own floor. She doesn't stray far despite the elevators making things easier, but she likes to have a mental map at least. She's approachable enough even in her upset, quiet and maybe a little morose but who isn't, some days?

I'd certainly like to try.

[ She pushes her hair out of her face, chewing on one side of her lip. For as long as some people have been here, her idea suddenly seems presumptuous. ]

I'm sure other people have tried it already too. I've only just arrived, so maybe I'll find someone that's been longer to compare notes.

Plenty of people vanish with every Jump. Hopefully, someone has collected past research. Otherwise it's a matter of killing hours searching the archives.

That's very true. With any luck there's someone doing that, or maybe one of the few left from the beginning could assist.

[ Then - ]

I don't mind spending hours in the archives, but I'd like to have a starting point at least.

Try the Communications department. Nathan Petrelli. He heads up the department and he's been here since the sixth jump. He can at least direct you better.

[ than he can, he means. he has only been here a few days and already tobias loathes it. ]

Thank you for the tip. I've been a little bit of a hermit I suppose, until now... It's taken some getting used to.

[ That's an understatement if anything is - it's tiring, and strange, and if it weren't for the fact that the only thing left for her at home was death, she'd hate it more. ]

[ he gives a brief shake of his head. ]

You don't need to explain. We've all been there. I only just awoke after the most recent jump.

[ staying busy is the only way he knows to keep from going insane; it's the only way he has to convince himself this isn't all a never-ending simulation.

tobias sighs and offers lily a crooked smile. ]

If the wise are to be believed, it gets better. [ he doesn't believe that, though. ]

[ Lily laughs a little at what he says last, though not unkindly - she isn't sure she believes it either. ]

I have heard that thrown around a bit. [ She pauses, thoughtful. ]

It's nice to meet you, by the way. I'm Lily.

[ dauntless would shake hands in greeting; abnegation would bow their heads respectfully. tobias does neither. ]

Four. [ She repeats it as confirmation, not from thinking it strange - wizards have little call to wonder at what people call themselves. ]

Do you use the libraries often? [ Open curiosity, though she's poised to draw back with it if it feels too invasive. ]

[ he makes a moue. ]

First one I've been in.

[ She's not sure how to react to that - she's always been a bookworm, but she knows that others may not be or may not have access to them, but if she's surprised it doesn't show in her face. ]

I'm afraid this one is less useful than most are supposed to be, anyway.
