SUMMARY: Chuck is keeping herself busy with all the things along with her menagerie of animals since Ned is still asleep in his pod.

Ⓐ PODS;

[it's not the first time for chuck that she's seen people still asleep in the pods even after the jump, it's not something she even has personal experience with either but it still came as a surprise to her when ned didn't wake up this month.

he was still here yet not awake and it felt strange to her that he wasn't around given she had not spent a single month without him even when he came back again not remembering being here before. she tries to not let that get to her though as she always aims to be optimistic but every so often she can found going to visit his pod]

Ⓑ OXYGEN GARDENS;

[chuck spends a lot on time in the gardens because it reminds her of home and gives her a sense of something familiar and more often than not this is where she can be found taking ith digby, pigby and little gumshoe given there is more space and less cramped compared to her room or even the hallways.

other times if you go venture to the upper floors of the gardens, chuck can be found in her beekeeping suit tending to the beehives either harvesting their honey or just looking after them in general]

Ⓒ KITCHENS / THE PIE HOLE;

[the pie hole was fairly quiet this month given she was the only one behind the counter aside from digby, pigby and little gumshoe hanging around but if anyone wanted pie she was more than happy to provide anything ranging from a whole pie, a single slice or her cup pies to anyone who dropped by for that or even just approached to talk with her instead.

at the times she was in the kitchens, she would mostly be going back to gather baking supplies and ingredients if anyone was to run into her there]

[The beehives have had Granny's attention for some time now. She kept hoping to find their keeper.]

Important things to have around, bees.

[It wouldn't be obvious to a stranger, but the brisk nod she gives carries a lot of respect with it.]

[Chuck turns around at the sound of the voice, still smiling] I couldn't agree more.

They always been here, or brought on fer honey?

[She suspects it's the former. THere are so many plants here. And plants need bees.]

I think they always have. I've been taking care of them for a while now though.

Kept bees at home. Tricky work.

Really? You're done a bit of beekeeping too?

Got a couple hives outside the cottage. Gotta have an extra skill, can't take money for witchin'.

[Gifts, well, gifts were another matter entirely. But it was always important to cultivate something else, and Nanny did most of the regular midwifery these days.]

Ah, I guess that makes sense. I've been doing this since I was a kid so I decided to take it up here too when I found the hives.

Same reason I went Medical. Gotta find something familiar. Be useful.

[She's looking over the hives. There's a slight smile that suggests she is in fact pleased with their state.]

Exactly! Plus this comes in useful when I'm baking pies too after I've harvested their honey.

And ain't ever met folk that didn't care for pie.

[Less practical but... it's pie. She can appreciate good pie.]

Yeah me either, it gets pretty busy down at The Pie Hole because of it.

[ Peter's only come to the kitchens for a cup of coffee, something to keep him awake for just a little while longer. Because who needs to sleep, right? But stepping into the kitchens, Peter steps back and watches for a second as she gathers up ingredients, readying to make something. ]

I'm always impressed that you can bake anything up here.

[inspirited]

[Being in the middle of gathering the ingredients she needs, it takes her a moment to turn and acknowledge Peter when he walks into the kitchen. She just smiles at him, waving with one hand since her other was occupied] I know what you mean though most of the stuff I need isn't too hard to get a hold of here at least.

That's the surprising part. [ Peter's not sure how they can get half of this stuff up in space, not to mention keep it filled on a regular basis. Agriculture must be completing feats of.... something extraordinary to be able to manage all of this. For all of them. ]

Need a hand with anything?

[ Peter nods towards her supplies, offering himself up as a supplies mule. ]

Oh, yeah I could definitely use the help since I already have my hands full- I just need the rest that stuff that's on the counter. [which was mostly just a few containers with an assortment of other ingredients just for easier carrying]

[ Peter stood, making his way over to the counter to scoop up the last of the ingredients that couldn't be held in her hands. Settling them in his arms, Peter nodded. ] Lead the way.

[She nods, smiling as she starts to lead the way] Alright, I was just bringing this over to The Pie Hole.

That'd explain all the baking, then.

Yeah, I've been helping Ned with it ever since he started up doing that here.

the pie hole

[ It's arguably the smell of freshly baked pie that lures Gwen to the Pie Hole.

She couldn't even say it smells like home, because home is mostly the smell of traffic congestion, garbage in the streets, and the sharp tang of chemicals in the Oscorp labs. (And really, she wouldn't have it any other way.)

But the Pie Hole smells like what a storybook-home should. It's homey, quaint, colourful, a friendly greeting in a place where everyone knows your name. And right now, Gwen thinks she could use some of that. ]

Wow, it smells amazing in here.

[Chuck was currently preparing a few pies at the moment but with how slow it was she easily noticed Gwen approaching The Pie Hole. Chuck didn't know her but that was never something that stopped her from being as friendly as she greeted Gwen with a smile] Thank you, though that's mostly the pie.

Did you want some?

[timeisluck]

Really?

[ Gwen steps up to the bar, eyes as bright as her smile. Stepping into this place was definitely the right decision. ]

Yeah, I'd love some.

Do you make all of these yourself?

[inspirited]

[She just nods] Of course, that's what this place is here for.

Normally I have help but yeah I did make all of these myself. [She brings out one of the pies and places it on the counter which is ready to eat and be served] This one is just apple pie but I can make other flavors if you have a preference at all.

[timeisluck]

Oh, apple is totally fine with me. It's a classic, right?

[ She leans forward, curiously watching Chuck until she brings out the pie. ]

You know, I'm trying to think of the last time I actually had pie back home and I'm drawing a blank. [ Definitely with her dad, though. She remembers that much. ] Maybe like, a few years ago?

Yeah, it's a classic! [She smiles at that]

It's been that long? Well now you have the chance to have it again at least.

[timeisluck]

Yeah, definitely.

[ She grins. ]

I would never have thought there'd be a pie shop on a ship like this.

Well it's more of a recent thing since we officially made this a place here not too long ago.

How do you even ... start to make this a place? It's not like you could make a trip to the nearest Home Depot to pick up supplies or anything.

Actually Ned just found this part of the ship and we just added a few things here and there to decorate it from what we found in our lockers.
