[ so octavia has totally repurposed the bar for a round of speed dating, or at least as close as she can manage given that she a) did this last minute and b) doesn't know what speed dating is. still, it's not a hard concept, and there's name badges on a table and a hell of a lot of booze already up on the bartop.

there's some music playing in the background, but given that she's hardly an expert it's just as likely to be really out of place as it is romantic. feel free to use that as a talking point. there's coffee too because she doesn't really know how to cook, and a bunch of ready to eat stuff scavenged from the kitchen nearest the bar. all in all, it's...pretty budget-- BUT SHE TRIED

People volunteering their friends will obviously be told the truth about the nature of the evening, but anyone not friends with Octavia can opt to have received an anon message stating something like " MEET + GREET ON THE xTH FLOOR BAR, PLEASE BRING YOURSELF AND ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR APPROPRIATE ATMOSPHERE. THANKS "

although if you'd prefer their volunteer tricks them into arriving, that is of course also an option. ]

You're assuming a lot of things about when I was sixteen.

I'm going to guess you didn't suffer from seizures most of your life. [Because that's mostly how she's comparing their experiences.]

Besides, what do you care if I'm here or not?

[ Allison narrows her eyes. ] You approached me.

[better]

Yeah, but you opted to jump on my reasons for being here. You asked, I answered and then you judged. [Typical of Allison, Erica is thinking.]

[overdraws]

[ Allison remains calm, taking a deep breath. ] You started to get snide about Lydia. I don't care if you're a bitch to me, but you leave her out of it.

[Erica rolls her eyes at Allison. If getting "snide" about Lydia had to do with her asking who she'd get saddled with - which, according to her opinion was getting snide about everyone else in this place and saying that Lydia would be taking a possible step down by opting to go with anyone here.]

Pump the brakes there, Allison. I barely said a thing about Lydia and you're still the one being weird about my reasons for being here. If anything, I should be upset that you're taking this too seriously.

[overdraws]

[ Allison holds up a hand, and frowns, eyes narrowing. ] You don't have to say anything to be snide, Erica. I know how you feel about Lydia and I know how you feel about me. I'd also like to point out that until you started trying to steal my boyfriend, I had no problem with you. I'm only two years older than you, so I asked why you age had anything to do with signing up. You're the one that started getting pissy.

[ She turns to Erica, and crosses her arms. ] Yes, I take Lydia very seriously. She's my best friend. This? [ She glances around at the party. ] I'm not interested. I'm here because I signed Lydia up and it's only fair if she signed me up.

[Erica doesn't really care how this conversation escalated. The fact is that she's going to stick to her own opinion that Allison is wrong about everything that she just rattled off. Her "attempts to steal her boyfriend" had been pack-related, not boyfriend related. Maybe riling up Allison had been fun, but she'd never been on that side of things - never had that sort of power where a girl like Allison would ever consider her a threat socially or to her relationship status - which at the time had been all secrets anyway.

And if she really wants to get into how Allison had "problems" with her, Erica would be more than happy to bring up the attack on her and Boyd. The fact that Erica had begged her to stop and she didn't.]

Right. Stick with that story if it makes you feel better. [She doesn't even care why Lydia is there or Allison - she just saw a familiar face and didn't think it was right to play the childish game of ignoring her the whole night.]

You can read into things all you want and you can paint up some picture where I'm always the bad guy about to do horrible things. But -- I haven't done anything except try to talk to you about this thing that you apparently don't even care about.

[It's clear with her tone actually starting to sound frustrated that she's pretty sure that this is how it's always going to be.]

I'll leave you to the bowl of rice, though. I'll try to remember next time I try to just have a normal conversation with you that you'll assume I'm trying to maintain some cruel streak against you.

[overdraws]

You mean you're not? [ And it comes out way more flippant than Allison intended but she's not sure she cares, at the moment. ] I know you're not Derek's lackey anymore, and that he's not craving power or whatever misguided goal he had when he decided to make you his beta. And I know that what I did to you was wrong. But back home? You never did anything to me or Scott or Stiles or Lydia that wasn't meant to be cruel in some way. [ Allison narrows her eyes and steps forward. ]

You tried to kill my best friend. I still haven't even forgiven Isaac for that. So if you want to do this? [ And she waves a hand around, like she's gesturing to everything. ] Then you're going to have to do a lot less smirking and posturing and a lot more saying you're sorry.

[The second Allison starts on the offensive again, Erica just turns around. She's already tried to end this, to walk away without letting it get to her. Maybe Allison has a grudge, but Erica has been trying to just let it all get left back in Beacon Hills. Isaac told her that this place is better than back home and she's trying to believe that, but it's not so easy.

She catches the end of what Allison says, as she walks away, but she's not about to turn around and apologize. She was following orders and she knows that Allison would use the same reasoning behind her own attack - the only difference is that Erica's was an attempt and Allison had follow through.

Maybe they'll never get along, but Erica came here to make friends and it's definitely clear that she's not going to find that in Allison.]
