[ so octavia has totally repurposed the bar for a round of speed dating, or at least as close as she can manage given that she a) did this last minute and b) doesn't know what speed dating is. still, it's not a hard concept, and there's name badges on a table and a hell of a lot of booze already up on the bartop.

there's some music playing in the background, but given that she's hardly an expert it's just as likely to be really out of place as it is romantic. feel free to use that as a talking point. there's coffee too because she doesn't really know how to cook, and a bunch of ready to eat stuff scavenged from the kitchen nearest the bar. all in all, it's...pretty budget-- BUT SHE TRIED

People volunteering their friends will obviously be told the truth about the nature of the evening, but anyone not friends with Octavia can opt to have received an anon message stating something like " MEET + GREET ON THE xTH FLOOR BAR, PLEASE BRING YOURSELF AND ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR APPROPRIATE ATMOSPHERE. THANKS "

although if you'd prefer their volunteer tricks them into arriving, that is of course also an option. ]

Sounds familiar. [She takes a breath.] Probably different situations, but where I'm from before I came here I was being hunted down.

You were being hunted? [there's clear concern in her voice regardless of their situations being different]

Yeah. [She doesn't mention that it was by the girl she'd been arguing with earlier. She figures she doesn't need that sort of hassle.]

Is it common where you're from?

Not really. [She frowns for a moment.] It's more isolated to me and a few of the people I'm close with.

Well I hope you don't have to worry about that here.

I'm pretty sure if it happens here, I'll be able to go to someone and let them know. I don't think it'll come to that, though. [She doesn't think Allison would be that vengeful.]

That's good then— because really this place gives us enough to deal with as it is.

[She smirks, lifting her tattoo'd arm up.]

Yeah? [she smiles slightly] Looks like we have that in common then.

I wonder how many people are left from that jump... I know people come and go all the time.

I'm not sure but maybe the communications department keeps a record of it?

Maybe... [Erica shrugs.] It wouldn't really be important information, I guess. Just a curiosity.

Yeah, I mean it could be but from what I was told the coming and leaving is random. [clarke doesn't entirely buy that but her own theories are pretty dark so she keeps it to herself]

Yeah, I've been here before, apparently. I don't remember any of it.

You have? [clarke was subconsciously aware that was possible but this was a first for her speaking to someone who had been here before and didn't remember it] That must be really weird.

[Erica shrugs.] It's... not the best thing to find out, but at least I wasn't doing horrible things before.

Horrible things? [there's a slight tilt of her head in curiosity at that assumption]

Yeah... being mean or getting into fights or something. [She doesn't want to say attacking people or provoking fights -- even if it's something she figures she'd probably do.]

Oh right, yeah that's defintely a good thing neither of those didn't happen with your previous stay.

[Erica laughs.] Yeah, kind of a damper on the whole space kidnapping to find out that I was some underground fight club champ.

[She takes a breath.] I should let you go. I mean, talking to me the whole party won't get you any dates.

Yeah it definitely would and hey it's okay.

I didn't come to this thing to get any dates— even if that's what Octavia's intentions were in setting this whole thing up.

[Erica shrugs.]

Yeah, I guess this place isn't really appropriate for that sort of thing anyway. Still, you probably have other people that want to talk to you. [aka this thread is from march lol so let's figure out a good closer.]
