CHARACTERS: Sherlock Holmes (001), John Watson (AU)
LOCATION: 007-082
WARNINGS: Thinking language at the worst. Spoilers for the end of Sherlock series 2, for anyone looking to avoid them. Will update if needed.
SUMMARY: Following up with a talk about hospital roofs and feelings. Or something like that.
[ John Watson is not a stupid man. Not in so many words, at least. There are select individuals who might say otherwise, rather openly and plainly, but the opinion of those individuals is one he's been ignoring for nearly two years. They're welcome to keep it to themselves. If he agrees that he is, it's probably for an entirely separate reason than what any Holmes has in mind.
Because, against any and all odds, he knows what this is going to be about: Sherlock made it very obvious. Moriarty, St. Barts, the suicide, likely enough the complete lack of answers he had regarding any of it. Which is stupid to think might come up, he supposes, because this isn't the Sherlock he's been demanding them from at all. It would be how things turned out, it really would- before he and the Sherlock from Atia even do more than briefly broach the subject on first arriving, he's discussing it with the one who hadn't even lived through it until recently. And he knows he's not likely to get his answers from this one, either.
Whether that's more painful or infuriating, well. Doesn't particularly matter.
John can't identify an airline pilot by his left thumb, but he's always been very skilled in knowing when he's about to talk about something he doesn't want to, and he's always been less than skilled in dodging those situations. He said he would be in his room, so he'll be there. That's all there is to it. ]
