( OPEN ) call it what you want
CHARACTERS: Peter Parker (
parkours) & you!
LOCATION: 005 | Common room
WARNINGS: None.
SUMMARY: Peter's attempting to rig the holographic screens in favor of actually displaying movies, which needless to say, doesn't go all that well for now. He just wants to watch video footage of things man )8
NOTES: None.
There's a sign when you first enter the common room, one that Peter deliberately put there as a means of offering up his services to the ship, an offer of willingly taking pictures for a small fee. He hasn't quite figured out what the fee is just yet, but Peter has every intention of working that out on a later basis. Maybe information, maybe nothing, but that's it for now.
What he really wants though, is a place to tinker, the electronics earning his complete attention, because being the geek he is, they're something worth looking into, improving on. It seems like he has competition across the ship, with men like Tony Stark already offering their services (in both forms), and Peter will never come close to their level. Try as he will, because he's always been a self sufficient kid even with Uncle Ben and Aunt May around, Peter is still a teenager.
It's why he's here in the common room, physics textbook at his side (not that it'll help), examining the console to the holographic screen. Every once in a while he gets a near jolt as Peter prods the wrong thing, a perpetual frown on his face because nothing seems to be going in his favor, a reminder that this is out of his league, and despite how smart he can be on the surface, a brand new situation means he's just your average joe.
( ooc | brackets or prose are completely fine with me! pre-emptive yes to anyone who wants to fourth-wall peter as well! )

She's not one to go out of her way to meet everyone, but when she happens upon another person, well, there's no reason to shy away from making acquaintances. Having made some noise as she entered the room, meaning it was unlikely her presence would go unnoticed, Wanda instead just steps in. Her eyes drift to the screen to see if she can tell what it is he's trying to do.]
Experimenting?

Pausing in his actions, Peter glances up, around, before catching sight of Wanda. He raises a hand in a slight wave before shrugging his shoulders. ] Kinda?
TV looks broken to me. [ Which it isn't really, but hey, Peter can assume. ]
I just wanted to see if I could rig 'em to watch a movie or two.

Do they have a decent selection of movies available?

[ His frustration is evident in the way he speaks, exasperation lined across his face. Pausing for a moment, he leans against the console, running a hand through his hair. ] You'd think the whole idea of living on a ship would be fun, but so far it hasn't.
[ It's the first time he's really spoken much at all to anyone but Gwen, but moments like these when his work isn't going all that well and Peter's trying for something unique, his talent for being awkward tends to give way to his more casual self. ]

[She takes a seat a bit away, just outside of the space where he's working so he can move freely to and from as she anticipates he might. Considering how frustrated he already is, she's not about to make herself a further hindrance.]
Did something happen? Besides [She waves a hand, gesturing to his project.] all of this?

[ Peter's line of reasoning was that most people went exploring in a ship they weren't familiar with, but what had caught his attention since he first arrived was the influx of technology, the pods themselves and the basics of the ship. He would want to eventually move onto the more advanced stuff around, his own interest taking precedence and Peter's natural curiosity for learning. ]
A friend, [ He stumbles over that, because Gwen isn't a friend by any means but a lot more than that. ] kinda mentioned stuff happens on board, but I haven't seen anything, so I just... it's all new to me here.
[ Totally aware things are mundane in conversation, but Peter was never the greatest conversationalist to begin with. ]
What about you? I mean, coming over to this corner.

[At least, about the strangeness. Things happening that weren't normal. It's sort of par for the course with Wanda and her world. Things are decidedly Not Normal there. Then again, as a mutant she's not normal too, by the standards of "society," for whatever that's worth.
Wanda shrugs gently.]
I'm just exploring the ship. I arrived with the last jump, thought I would get a sense of what is where and well, happened upon you. Should I leave you to your work?

Maybe it's just nothing.
[ A slight shrug, but who's he really fooling; they're not in their own home, somewhere familiar, and everything here isn't the same as what he knows at all. Peter's silent for a while longer, musing over what he's seen to the point where his tools lay on the side and he's forgotten them in the long run. It's not until the lockpick (Peter's logic was awkward, breaking into the panels and then working from there) clatters to the ground. ]
You can stay, [ He says, jerking up to catch her eyes. ] really. I uh, wasn't managing anything anyway. [ Peter adds before shrugging. ]
