It's like Luke Skywalker and Yoda
CHARACTERS: Alex Summers [CR AU] and Dave Sprite
LOCATION: Training!
WARNINGS: PG-13 for language most likely
SUMMARY: Davesprite wants help figuring out his weird phasing powers, and Alex has volunteered to help him get it under control.
Alex told Davesprite to meet him in one of the storage rooms--the one he'd empty and modified for the training with the other Alex when he had been here. It would serve their purpose well enough.
Leaning against the bulkhead, he let plasma flow into his hand, turning into a ball, before re-absorbing it back into his suit. It was a simple exercise in control, but one he really felt he needed, these days.
But he figured that this practice would be good for him, too.

The idea was to give him even greater mobility. The faster he could dodge, the better off his feathers would be. Not to mention his hide.

Like Charles would. Alex could do this--just...mix techniques. Charles and Erik...and make it something his own.
"First off, do you go through every wall, every time? Or is it just...an occasional annoyance? Like you don't think about it, lean on a wall, and woops, through the wall?"
He looked Davesprite up and down. "Cause you seem to have figured out how to keep yourself from sinking through the floor."

"Anyway, it happens off and on. Whether I'm thinking about it or not. If I'm not super conscious of what I'm doing, my wings pass through things."

Alex tried to find a good way to word this. "I have to consciously think about spreading my plasma down my arms. That isn't what it normally wants to do, so I have to force it. It's easier now, because I work at it. So if you start focusing on going through walls, only when you want to...that might work."

"If you know how to do that, then you should be able to learn to do this." Alex moved a bit closer, wanting to see the sword in greater detail. "...did you just pull that from negative space? Or..." He didn't exactly understand how it worked.

Man he really wants his high quality shit back. He misses Caldescratch, that beautiful babe of a blade. "Anyway, we're going to make this all will over instinct. Right?"
no subject
"So first, I want you to focus on phasing through the walls. Then touching the walls without phasing on the every third go."
no subject
Ow.
The second time? Slides right in. It's the whole not thinking about it bit. Don't laugh.

"Let's try touching the wall before walking through it...I'd rather not have to explain to Save why you broke your nose." He smirked, forming a plasma ball in his hand, tossing back and forth between his hands absently.

It takes two tries before he isn't just passing through it. "Okay. Think I can do it this time."
wow. Save should have been Dave. A+ me
He kept the plasma ball in his hands, giving a nod. "Pass through the wall."
Hahahaha no worries man.
And toppled right on through it with a startled 'caw'. It was going to be a long day.

Because really, he was trying, but Alex was starting to worry that he was full of shit and really had no idea what he was doing.

"I think I know why. You guys learned like this didn't you? I didn't." He'd been forced to face the odds. The game's merciless swarms had taught him how to exploit time to the fullest extend and as a sprite that had all felt...natural. Yet he'd used it in a fight.
"Cool with it taking longer, but I got a theory. Start slinging stuff at me. Don't worry I'm faster than I look."
no subject
"You sure?"
Alex let the plasma ball grow in his hand more, but made sure it wasn't that strong--Davesprite might get a headache, but he wouldn't burn, at least.

Taking a step back, he gave a nod. "Just tell me when to stop," and with that, Alex flung out his hand, sending a blast of plasma shooting towards his friend.
