Follow the truth, follow the lies;
CHARACTERS: Handsome Jack, Lilith, Mordecai, open!
LOCATION: The brig
WARNINGS: Language?
SUMMARY: Following the events of this log in which Jack appears and immediately has people trying to kill him until SEC throws them all in jail to separate them.
NOTES: Backdated to a couple days after the jump. Specify the character yours is visiting in the subject line.
Despite the efforts of the two Vault Hunters, Jack was not dead. Perhaps had they been more inclined to harm the security officers who had gotten in the way, the result would have been different, but they hadn't; instead, the three had been dragged off to the brig for a few days, and remarkably, nobody had been severely injured. They had been given cells that, while not immediately adjacent to each other, were still within earshot. This clearly would only be a temporary solution to stop their violence, but that, at least, was better than no solution at all.

mordecai technically but anyone can holler at her if they want
You know, I still haven't ended up in the brig. The fact that you're still all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and have is hilarious.

[He looks up at her, and smiles a little at his bird.] It's a good thing he knows you pretty well by now, huh?

[ Faith not included, because Faith is her chickbro. ]
Definitely. We're buddies, aren't we? [ Just gonna pet the bird, both to prove her point and to console it since he can't go over to Mordecai. ]

[The bird fluffs his feathers out a little, evidently content for now at least.]

What'd you do?

There's a guy down there a little ways who calls himself Handsome Jack. Back on Pandora, he tried to kill just about everyone, an' profit off everyone else. He enslaved his own daughter, captured and tortured Lilith, murdered Roland, and... well. A lotta other stuff. Nearly ended up killing me, too. It took a lot of people to tear down his empire, but we did. Lil got revenge for all of us by meltin' his brains. So maybe you can see why, when he showed up here just this jump, we figured we oughta make him stay down.

Oh Mordecai. You bird-loving dumb ass. You and Lilith are going to make the "transition" here so. damn. easy.]

[ Yes Jaye... ]
Probably would've done the same thing, if I figured I had the fire power to pull it off.

[Because it was pretty obvious to him that there would be a next time, and a time after that if that's what it took, until Jack was dead and gone from the ship. Or thrown down one of those holes. Hiding a body would be the easiest part of the whole deal, really.]

[ It had been a joke, but Jaye would have done the same thing to Wichita that Moran did. ]
He ended up down here for a bit, too.

[He shakes his head, then stretches a little, rolling his shoulders.]
You wanna go get a drink when I get outta here?
[Because there is so much more that Jack did to piss him off that he doesn't even want to talk about right now, mostly so Jack can't have the satisfaction of hearing how much it affected him. That, and alcohol makes it easier.]

Always do. You know where to find me -- and your bird here.

Jack in his cell- OPEN
The master of manipulation had to get people on his side before he could kill them both. This was going to be tricky... and was going to take longer than he thought.
They took everything- his weapons, his shields and grenades. Thankfully, with some good acting and pleading, he was able to keep his watch and chain. It was a gift from someone special, he said. He couldn't bare parting with it... considering he had been pulled from everything he had known not just a few days ago.
He flipped his watch open and closed, open and closed...
While he couldn't see Lilith and Mordecai, he knew they could hear him. His silence must have been pretty damn unsettling, considering he wouldn't shut up in Pandora. He waited for one of them to start something. He was sure Lilith couldn't stay silent for long.

And on top of it all, Jack was playing innocent. It was tempting to phase out of the cell and just go strangle the bastard where he stood, but then the whole ship would be out to get her. Killing a psychopath should warrant a parade, but a witch hunt. She'd had enough of those in the couple of decades she'd been alive.
Frustrated, she balled her fists around the bars and leaned slightly against them. The silence was getting to her and Jack was right, she wouldn't be quiet for long. "Hey, have you done the ship a favor and killed yourself off yet?" she called out. It wasn't hard to figure out who that was directed to.

"Rude." A large grin settled on his face. "That's no way to start a conversation, Lilith. Now, I know it's hard for a psychopathic bitch like you to act civilized, but how 'bout you give it the 'ol college try? You killed me, remember? Since I'm feeling generous, I'll help you out." He cleared his throat. "Say, 'I'm sorry, Jack. I didn't mean to melt your face off.'"
There was a small chuckle afterwards. "Now, I'm not going to forgive you- that boat sailed when you and the alcoholic bird lover there tracked me down to kill me again- but an apology would be nice."

"You can try. Oh, boy can you. I don't doubt you will. But you're not going to get the chance, cupcake. I'm going to live a nice, long, healthy life... and there's absolutely nothing you and Bird Boy can do about it." Jack grinned. "I'm invincible. And you know, I could try to kill you and your buddy there before you get the chance to off me... but you know what? I'm going to pass," for now, "because every second I'm still breathing is a second you have to wrap your puny bandit mind around the fact that you didn't finish me off."

"Because you want to instill insecurity by spouting out empty threats? You know you can't do a goddamn thing, so this is the best you can do... and I've got to say, it's not very good. I'm not about to suggest Roland was any brighter, but Jesus, he liked 'em dumb."
