Camping may not be an expected activity on a spaceship, but the gardens are large and have clear, grassy areas for people to gather together. You can help set up tents, inventory supplies or guard the perimeter — just keep an eye out for any strange faces trying to sneak in...

[ a small nod, and soysauce cheerfully trots alongside heather -- giving a small laugh at 'could do without pirates.' ]

I think a lot of people here could do without the pirates, yes? Especially these ones. After all -- they're not exactly the type of pirate one thinks of when hearing the word 'pirates,' yes? Where's the gallant swashbuckling, the sense of thrill, the possibility of an honorable duel? Aah, it could have been so grand!

[ soysauce is clearly joking though, his airy words punctuated with wide sweeps of his arm, and he laughs before pattering one, two paces ahead of heather. walking backward before her as he grins. ]

I suppose we'll just have to make do with these poor imitations for now, yes?

[Soy, you're adorable. Even though it's obvious he's joking, it's still an awfully sweet first thought as far as pirates are concerned. Heather's is more along the lines of inadequate personal hygiene, scurvy and STDs.]

Ugh, I guess so. One of them's pretty cute, though.

[Said in a very light, pleasant tone. The same tone in which she adds:]

Shame I'm gonna shoot him in his pretty face if he touches my stuff.

Aah, no no no!

[ immediately, soysauce makes a faux-indignant noise. arms crossed over his chest, shaking his head even as he continues walking backwards before her, managing to keep up with her pace. ]

Everyone knows that against an opponent with a pretty face, one must aim for the kneecaps instead!

[ a small wink and a chuckle before he clears his throat. adding a little more seriously, ]

But in all earnest -- you should be careful, Miss Heather. Seeing as the security department is working hard to prevent the pirates from hurting anyone, hopefully they won't even get this far into the gardens in the first place!

[Shaking her head, the very picture of Disappointed In Myself. Although for all her big talk she'd prefer to avoid shooting any faces, pretty or otherwise. Scaring the shit out some someone who needs to be knocked down a peg or two is one thing, but killing somebody? Nope. Not over stuff.]

I'm not planning any heroics. Or... unheroics, maybe?

I'm pretty confident they won't even make it down here. Not with you guys on the case. Hell, you could probably just get Anne to made her cranky face at them and they'd leave all on their own.

Aha! Wouldn't that be an ideal solution -- simply scare the entire lot off with a strong enough look!

[ that makes him laugh -- it would be good if miss cunningham could really scare off those pirates just by glowering at them really hard. but alas, he doubts things would end that well. soysauce walks in silence for a few momenets, seeming to think over the situation a bit before he speaks up once more. he sounds a little more thoughtful, a little more serious than usual. ]

I do hope that we'll be able to keep the gardens safe, though. I can't help but feel that -- despite the strength of everyone on the security department, we aren't as powerful as we'd like to believe. We've been so powerless in the past, when strange things happened on the ship.

[ a slightly rueful noise before he adds, ] Ah! That's not to say one should give up, of course! But -- just a thought.
