Camping may not be an expected activity on a spaceship, but the gardens are large and have clear, grassy areas for people to gather together. You can help set up tents, inventory supplies or guard the perimeter — just keep an eye out for any strange faces trying to sneak in...

What a shame, you look like you'd have an excellent poker face. And oh, worth is in the eye of the beholder, don't you think. How does that one phrase go, one man's trash is another man's treasure?

[ A misspoken word, a misplaced trust, all things that Irene defines as treasure while others consider them trash ( a betrayal, but the sentiment is all the same to her, really. ) She keeps a focus on the other people, the surroundings, and keeps Gold in her peripheral vision.

The idea is not to have the fact that she's watching him obvious, because why would she? Besides, she can always turn and make conversation when she thinks it's a valid choice. ]

And we all know a shepherd controls the dog. Tells them where to go with what they know. [ She's not— insulted, and she knows very well who she'd cast in the role the dog and the shepherd and the sheep. She counts as, well, perhaps it's the shepherd's friend. ] Wolves have been known to take down dogs and shepherds alike though.

[That gets a pause, a thin smile.]

And have you found much treasure on board this ship?

[He's sifting through for his own, after all. But he was used to dealing in trash and treasure both, considering how his place was so often giving people what they wanted (or at least thought they wanted). In an environment like this, though, the most solid currency he'd found so far was the healing of harm done. Prevention and protection could of course come next, but that would involve revealing his power to someone before the need for it was known for certain.]

Then perhaps none of us are safe. Except the wolves.

[A thought he seems utterly unconcerned about.]

My definition of treasure is rather unique. I'd hate to give you the wrong impression.

[ Herein lies the problem with answering the question, she knows that her specific idea of treasure ( secrets from which to blackmail with, protection ) aren't exactly things she has in massive quantities which she wishes she did, but she does have some things that can be counted as treasures. ( After all, she likes to think having Taylor as close as she is counts, as does her counterpart. ) ]

Unless the unfortunate wolf has a run in with a gun and a good shot.

[ It's not a sentence that should be said with a smile, and yet, there's a faint trace of one on her lips. ]

Oh, I don't think you would. I have a long-standing appreciation of uniqueness.

[The gaze he sets on her is quite steady, and maybe a little sharp. She could continue trying to worm around the topic, if she'd like - maybe drop it entirely. But in a place like the Tranquility was turning out to be, he knew the worth most stood in the people, and that made her a collector, a potential manipulator. If she had much treasure in her grasp at all.

And he smiles when she does, but the expression's more bemused, and entirely at her expense.]

Do you like to view all ventures so pessimistically?

I'm not entirely fond of sharing my treasure.

[ Except she does have to doesn't she? Because she can't completely control every thing and that— oh she does so hate that. Manipulating people is only fun when you hold the cards completely and she hasn't been able to do that in the ways she needs to. ]

It's only pessimistic if I'm not the one who's winning side of things.

I've yet to meet a person who is.

[And the smile that comes with that comment is the kind you only get from long long experience. He's seen men die over treasure, kingdoms fall, dragons slain. What lengths would she go to?]

There's no winning if we're all getting eaten or shot.

Some can be persuaded.

[ And the smile that comes with that is the kind one gets from being the treasure fought over or convincing the men that the treasure is something that needs to be fought for and she would always win and bring them to their knees. ]

Do you always think so inside of the box? Creativity is valued by most, you know.
