STAGE 2 ( OCTOBER 11TH - 24TH )
11TH
he has no idea who's memories he has, even though he knows what she looks like because she checked her hair in a mirror just before one of the many dates he suddenly remembers. he has no intention of seeking her out, but when he runs into her on one of his patrols, he still stops and scowls at her. ]

sarah wasn't sure who the memories belonged to but they weren't too disruptive in a way that stopped her from trying to go about her day as normal as possible. she was just walking down the hallway when she runs into him, a bit puzzled by the fact he was scowling at her] Is something wrong?
no subject
it's her, no doubt about it. ]
Other than remembering your disgustingly sweet courtship? [ his tone heavily implies that he considers a lot wrong with that thank you very much ]

What do you remember? [ which of his memories did you get, that is. ]

The only thing I saw was that you were talking to your Lieutenant— telling him that you had confidence in his leadership.
STAGE 3 ( OCTOBER 25TH - NOVEMBER 7TH )
November 1st
When Sarah's memories hit him, it was much less of a puzzle. First of all, there was looking at himself through her eyes--that was a pretty big clue. And at first it was just irritating, he tried to ignore it, and then it got less irritating and more...distracting. Distracting wasn't acceptable. Distracting got in the way of him putting together engines, and distracting took his mind away just as he was reconstructing his pistol with a stray fond thought about Chuck's smile.
Stray thoughts about Chuck's smile were never welcome.
Never.
There was only one option: get the memories out of his head as fast as possible. And if that meant killing the person whose head they actually belonged in, he supposed it might be worth a try. Right? Of course there might be other ways to deal with it, but nobody was suggesting that Casey's mind didn't jump straight to the violent option. ]
Walker, are you in here?

The moment she got memories from Casey, it was something familiar and slightly more obvious who the memories belonged too but despite that, a lot of the memories she did seem to be getting from him were bits and pieces of her future which she really had no idea how to even begin dealing it with. Hearing about it is one thing but seeing for herself is something else entirely even if she didn't quite have the context for some of the thing she saw.
She knew she should probably go look for Casey but just as she was thinking that, it seemed like he had already beaten her to it by coming to her room instead when she hears his voice outside of her door, which she soon opens] Yeah, I'm here— this is about the memories, right?

[ Casey wasn't sure what else to call them, but it wouldn't be a nice word that he used to describe them. They'd messed up his entire month, given him a whole new - unwanted - peek into how other people's lives really were, and let them know far too much about him, about Chuck, about Bryce--about him shooting Bryce. Who even knew what, with most of them? Getting answers out about what they'd seen was like getting blood from a stone, but Casey couldn't rely on them to shut their mouths about any of it either, and honestly? He was a very private person. That was the bottom line, when it came down to it. Casey didn't talk about his feelings with anyone; so giving them a first class backstage pass to his head was the ultimate punch in the balls.
In many ways, sharing those feelings with Walker was the worst that it could get. Well, the worst that it could be without Chuck being here. He knew he'd have to look her in the eyes again and see her seeing right through him.
Goddamned ship. ]
Can I come in?
[ Ugh where did that politeness come from? ]
no subject
She just nods before stepping aside so that Casey can come in because maybe she was a bit curious about what he saw from her end of this] Yeah, sure come in.
no subject
Have you had any headaches yet? Nosebleeds?

[ Casey considers the room. It's small. Sitting would give him a better view of the room, but put him at a disadvantage. But that's training. They're both falling back on it, even knowing each other as well as they do. Who sits first? Who turns this into a conversation and not a briefing? ]
It got pretty bad before. I uh--didn't want to go through with it. Who would?
no subject
I can't say I blame you for that— but it doesn't seem like there's another alternative.

I met some English vampire who got your shooting habit but shot the magazine out onto the floor when I handed him a gun. He had memories of me, too.
Bad enough we're hemorrhaging information ourselves. People are probably getting memories about you from me, too.
no subject
She already knows who Casey is talking about though not only because she has met Spike a couple of times but also from the fact she remembers having his memories earlier this month as well as from someone else who was from his world just a few days ago] I kind of figured they could be.
I think I know who you're talking about though, I might have gotten some of his memories earlier.

[ Casey had no idea, thank god. He'd managed to avoid any links with people who ate other people, and while there had been a few unfortunate kisses, the same could be said of his life. So long as nobody got his memory of Chuck trying to 'cure' him with a big, fat snog, he could carry that shame to the grave, the way it was meant to be.
He'd survived it so far, come off relatively unharmed. But there was still time for this to go horribly wrong. With a deeply wounded sigh, he moved himself over to the bed, perching carefully on the edge of it. ]
How do you want to do this?
no subject
[Meaning not at all because she hadn't been so lucky in that given the range of memories she had been getting during the last couple of weeks of this but she decides not to dwell on it too much.
When Casey moved to sit on the edge of her bed, she does the same just a few moments after and extends her hand at his question since that was the simplest way to go about this] Well holding hands would probably work.
no subject
That wasn't the biggest problem he had with it. ]
The way it works is if you and I break contact for even a minute, we have to start all over again. I'd rather not take any chances with you seeing something you don't like and pulling away.
[ So what were the options? ]
You got a stocking or a belt or something we could tie around out wrists?
no subject
She just frowns at his words because she's had enough links to know the process already and to be able to handle what she does see even if it's a bit weird seeing things from her future] I know how this works already, besides I can handle this just fine.
[Technically she does have something they could use to tie their wrists together in her closet but she doesn't respond to that part right away since she is kind of stuck on the fact that Casey is assuming she'll pull away at first] I do have something like that we could use if we need it though.
no subject
[ Casey was hard, Casey was tough, Casey could take looking at Sarah's life without needing space. Sure. But when it came to the things he'd done for Chuck, for a future she hadn't lived yet, and for instance, to him shooting Bryce Larkin--he couldn't be sure how Sarah would react.
But he can't put it off any longer, not through any other kind of workaround, and he offers his hand out toward her, palm side up, and waits for her to take it. ]
no subject
She takes his hand as soon as he offers it to start off the waiting process for ending this connection]
