An angry teenager who, by the way, is a grown man in prison for treason and the murder of twelve people when I'm from, an angry teenager whose best friend nearly beat him to death with his bare hands at the jump, an angry teenager who is only alive right now because I pulled Lupin off of him.

[ Because he just said he's taking it on faith that Sirius isn't a murderer and even stopped Remus from killing him over it. What the hell is Edgeworth being defensive about. ]

I'm beginning to believe that the reason you're incapable of having an intelligent conversation with me or accepting that I have any kind of emotional or motivational range beyond 'press button A for storybook villainy' is because you aren't capable of anything beyond one idiotic, apparently cognitively diminished gear. Yes, well done, sir, you certainly can waste a great deal of breath on pointless insults. I am telling you you don't have to take it on faith. I've heard direct testimony from someone whose mind was changed regarding Black's guilt. I'd have thought that would perhaps be interesting to you.

Why? Do you think I'm not aware of the business of my own world? Do you think it's going to make me forget that you're trying to deflect, once again, what you've done? You're flailing blindly around for a way to intimidate me because you think I've done something damning, but you're using information from an unreliable source that continues to irrationally loathe me despite the fact that I'm actively acting in his interests, something that he is well aware of. Meanwhile, you still are suffering from being tortured by an ancient evil, and you still are having fits in which you're using extremely destructive powers without your own awareness.

[ Incredulously, ] Are you really a lawyer?

[And that last comment did what all the dire emotional challenges could not. Edgeworth can deal with harsh truths from Snape; he can deal with blistering attacks against his morality. The pettiness, however, just makes him shake his head and turn away, going for the door once again.]

You've claimed to have a concussion several times. If that's the case, you need to be seen to. Not to wander off on your own - presumably in the hopes of expiring so that I look even worse.

[ His tone is serene. He really isn't going to go with him. He is injured and he is going to get this documented via medical - probably Peter Petrelli, he thinks, he was competent enough on the colony - but Edgeworth is positively intolerable and Severus isn't giving him an inch about it. ]

[ Especially because you're refusing to get help for your own behavior, pal. ]

[And Edgeworth digs in his heels once again, and tells Snape, sourly:]

Mr. Snape, I will stand here and play very loud songs very badly until you come with me to medical. There's a flute in that cabinet over there; I have the means to make good on this threat. Do you wish to endure my bad music?

[ Yes, he will correct everyone, every single time.

Gingerly, Severus stands up. ]

I am going to give you a few options. The first is that you agree to seek help, and immediately, and we will let this incident between us go pending your investment in active recovery. The second is that I leave right now, and you deal with whatever I decide to do about this, be it informing Xavier, or Tyke, or the elves, or all of them.

I suppose, also, you could refuse or run away. But then you would also have to deal with whatever it is I decide on doing. Which will it be?

[A loud scoff answers that.]

My business, once again, sir, is none of yours. You will tend to yourself, and you will leave me be.

Now stop changing the subject. You need medical attention.

[ Severus has to take a moment to steel himself - he's rested a little, during this tedious, bizarre, frustrating conversation with this person whom he's positive has never attended any kind of law school, anywhere. But he's still injured, and this isn't going to be comfortable. It is, however, a safer option than trying to walk past Edgeworth again, as that's what got him these injuries the first time he tried it.

He turns on his heel.
