[Semi-Open] When he calls to me, I am ready~
CHARACTERS: Leia Organa and a bunch of other people
LOCATION: All over the ship of death
WARNINGS: language? yelling?Jack Harkness, I'm told
SUMMARY: Leia's out and about getting used to the ship
NOTES: There should be a few parts that are locked to people, but I will let you know to whom
Locked to Bail Organa and those in the Comms section
[Leia has taken a few days to really settle into her room on the first floor of the ship, in this corridor. It's a lot to absorb. The dead are suddenly alive again. No one from her world is even from the same time. And she is really pissed that she was pulled away in the middle of one of the most important diplomatic missions that the Rebel Alliance had seen since its formation.
Not to mention she'd been pulled from Han's arms at a pivotal point of their relationship.
Nope, life on the Tranquility was proving to have a steep learning curve and Leia couldn't afford to let it continue. So, she's walking around the Communications Department and the first floor. Yes, she's armed but she's not hostile. No one has proven to be threatening yet and she knows that she needs allies in this strange reality.]
Locked to Luke Skywalker, Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones
["Oh, he works in the Gunnery department" was the answer she got when she asked around about where she could find Luke. The last time they'd talked, well, they'd both just woken up from the Gravcouches. She wants to spend more time with her brother, so she heads there after her shift in the Comm Department. She's a little tired, but it's a good sort and she'd like to eat. Hopefully he can get away to get something to eat with her.
She doesn't even think that there might be other constraints on his time or to ask him before she shows up.]
Luke, are you here?
Open to everyone
[Naturally curious, Leia doesn't stay in the "safe" sections of the ship. She's not really known for being a shrinking violet. Those upper floors look interesting too, especially since she supposedly has a room on floor 34. Not to mention she is curious about the other departments of the ship.
But, she's alone. Which...she's been warned against. Whoops? Not really.]

But today is a gunnery day so he's in a fairly good mood. Biggs is elsewhere today but Jack's been here to keep him company and it's been enjoyable. He's just finishing up maintenance on one of the turrets when he begins to sense a familiar presence approaching. It's Leia.
She hadn't contacted him or told him she'd be here. As he climbs out of the maintenance hatch Luke checks his comm device and, sure enough, no messages. Maybe it's just that he's so used to crazy things happening around the ship that he automatically suspects trouble but he's already on his feet and heading for the main entrance of the department when she arrives.]
Leia. What's going on?
no subject
Or perhaps he could. As they stand there, chatting at the end of their shift, waiting for Ianto to swing by as he had said he would and the pair of them could head off to dinner together - they may or may not have something special planned - when Luke's comm goes off, and then he's heading towards the entrance, and hearing the name 'Leia', Jack is automatically intrigued, glancing between them. And spotting Ianto coming up behind her in the corridor. Honestly, it's like the other man has a radar for these things: when his favorite characters show up on board and might potentially be involved in in awkward moments with each other, or something like that.]
Wait a minute. Leia? As in... Leia, Leia?
no subject
Holy shit.
That's Leia Organa (Leia Organa Solo?) in the hall in front of him.
He wonders how Luke would react if he confessed to having a huge crush on her as a kid. He'd had one off in the shower having fantasies about her more than once when he'd hit puberty, but that's probably going a bit far with the information level. And it's definitely nothing he'd share in front of the lady herself. He has manners.]
no subject
Nothing's wrong. I thought I'd come see if you wanted to go grab a bite with me.
[Leia gives the new face a bright smile before turning back to Luke.]
Have you been talking about me while I wasn't here? Who's your friend?
no subject
Jack hasn't even said anything bad yet, true, but LUKE KNOWS HIM and the possibilities are making his eye twitch. He briefly considers how awkward it might be if he tackles Jack, ties him up, and gags him right this second. Probably very awkward. And Jack
mightwill definitely enjoy it.Then he catches sight of Ianto and this whole scene is beginning to play out in his mind. Alright, well Ianto will hopefully make things better because he keeps Jack in line. Sometimes. But the things Ianto knows... He knows more than Luke does and it's making Luke incredibly nervous.
But he knows Leia can read that nervousness so he takes a deep breath as nonchalantly as possible to calm his nerves. It'll be fine. Even if he ends up being embarrassed beyond belief at least no one's going to die. Except maybe Jack. By strangulation. With Luke's bare hands. That might happen. But otherwise it's all good. Deep breath.]
Oh-- uh, no I was just finishing up in here and uh [he waves dismissively behind him] that's Jack, I think he has more work to do. [Significant look at Jack.
It wasn't technically a lie because he actually doesn't know whether or not Jack is done for the day. Not a lie.]
no subject
Honestly though, Luke, calm down. Jack's a married man. He reaches forward and takes Leia's hand with a smile, sweeping it up to kiss her knuckles in perfect gentlemanly swagger before either her or Luke can do anything to stop him.] Captain Jack Harkness. [He introduces himself. He nods behind her.] And that's Ianto Jones. Who's come to meet me since, as luck would have it, my shift is up as well. We were about to meet up and grab a bite to eat as well.
[He glances between Luke and Ianto, a twinkle in his eye.] Maybe we can all go together.
no subject
[Cat that got the cream. Yes, that's an apt description at the moment, thank you, Jack. The smile on his face is threatening to break out into a grin, and the sparkle in his eye might as well be fireworks as he extends his hand to Leia in a somewhat less flirtatious greeting. That said, he's still a handsome man in a well-tailored suit with a smooth accent and all the politeness of a true gentleman. He and Jack, with their powers combined...]
It's a pleasure to meet you, Leia. Luke has told us so much about you.
[Which is actually a blatant lie, and he catches Luke's eye playfully as he says it.]

hope this works!
One president who happened to be working on a small project of her own, trying to match images to names for easier recognition for all of them on board when she notices a young woman that she hasn't had the chance to meet. Pulling out from her desk, Laura Roslin exits into the hallways within Comms, taking note of the woman's firearm.]
Hello- I don't believe we've met. I'm Laura Roslin. [She extends a hand in greeting.]
Re: hope this works!
But, meeting new people is one of her favorite things to do. So, she gladly takes the other woman's hand and shakes it firmly.]
It's nice to meet you, Ms Roslin. My name is Leia Organa. I was told that I might be suited for work here.
no subject
Please, call me Laura, [She says with a welcoming smile. It was nice having people call her Laura, rather than sir, or madame president. Ms. Roslin was reserved for her students.]
Ah, yes. I'm not the one you'd want to talk to about that, however. Nathan Petrelli runs the department- [Laura was about to continue when she paused, looking at Leia and frowning.] Leia Organa... Are you related to Senator Bail Organa, by chance?
no subject
Han Solo.]Hm, Dad did mention Mr Petrelli before. I just haven't had the chance to meet him yet. Do you know where I might find him then?
[A little touch of pride is in her voice when she says 'Dad'. Organas tend to be rather...loving and not afraid to show it. Leia is no different if she's talking about family.]
I took over as senator for him when I was eighteen, but those were awfully big shoes to fill.
no subject
Senator is an inherited title where you're from? Odd. But, as for Nathan, he should be around, or, I suppose, walking the dogs in the oxygen garden.
no subject
[Despite Bail's desire to see her stay young and sweet. Ish. She's always been opinionated and headstrong.]
And, no, I was elected to my position. It was just that Dad groomed me to be his replacement. [Leia blinks in surprise at the second half of Laura's statement.] There are gardens here?

I see you've found the department.
[He does hope she hasn't been wandering alone. But he also knows her.]
no subject
Even if he still thinks she's a little kid that needs a minder. Gosh, she hasn't thought of Sabé in a long time.]
Well, it's not that far from my quarters. I decided I should just get it over with.
[Not. Three. Still. Daddy.]
no subject
[Even for people he does realize are not still three. Most of the time.]
We're not even certain their layout remains consistent.

[Translation: I will still do what I want but I've heard your valid worry and will attempt caution.]
I thought that I would start small and try to acquaint myself with the department first. Besides, I've always liked watching you work.
no subject
It's a good place to start. We've expanded a fair bit beyond the official mandate of the department.
no subject
Well, this is Communications Department, yes? I imagine there is a lot involved in making sure things on this ship run smoothly. It was hard enough with the Rebel forces, but we were nowhere near as organized as this.

Lost?
[Still unused to this whole, talking, thing. She's getting better.]
no subject
So far, nothing about the other woman strikes her as hostile.]
Not really. I'm just out getting the lay of the ship for myself. You?
no subject
[Chell nods to the pile in her arms. She doesn't move too close to the woman. Caution is always good in this place, especially when your arms are full and you're at a disadvantage.]
First time here?
no subject
On this floor? Yes. On the ship? My family says not, but I think I'd remember being trapped on a ship in the cold of space.
no subject
I was told that when I got here too. Hard to imagine forgetting this place.
[She should talk, what with her own history of memory loss. But still, this place is strange.]
no subject
Evidently, I've been here more than once. I find it all ridiculous to be honest.
