[Semi-Open] When he calls to me, I am ready~
CHARACTERS: Leia Organa and a bunch of other people
LOCATION: All over the ship of death
WARNINGS: language? yelling?Jack Harkness, I'm told
SUMMARY: Leia's out and about getting used to the ship
NOTES: There should be a few parts that are locked to people, but I will let you know to whom
Locked to Bail Organa and those in the Comms section
[Leia has taken a few days to really settle into her room on the first floor of the ship, in this corridor. It's a lot to absorb. The dead are suddenly alive again. No one from her world is even from the same time. And she is really pissed that she was pulled away in the middle of one of the most important diplomatic missions that the Rebel Alliance had seen since its formation.
Not to mention she'd been pulled from Han's arms at a pivotal point of their relationship.
Nope, life on the Tranquility was proving to have a steep learning curve and Leia couldn't afford to let it continue. So, she's walking around the Communications Department and the first floor. Yes, she's armed but she's not hostile. No one has proven to be threatening yet and she knows that she needs allies in this strange reality.]
Locked to Luke Skywalker, Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones
["Oh, he works in the Gunnery department" was the answer she got when she asked around about where she could find Luke. The last time they'd talked, well, they'd both just woken up from the Gravcouches. She wants to spend more time with her brother, so she heads there after her shift in the Comm Department. She's a little tired, but it's a good sort and she'd like to eat. Hopefully he can get away to get something to eat with her.
She doesn't even think that there might be other constraints on his time or to ask him before she shows up.]
Luke, are you here?
Open to everyone
[Naturally curious, Leia doesn't stay in the "safe" sections of the ship. She's not really known for being a shrinking violet. Those upper floors look interesting too, especially since she supposedly has a room on floor 34. Not to mention she is curious about the other departments of the ship.
But, she's alone. Which...she's been warned against. Whoops? Not really.]

Please, call me Laura, [She says with a welcoming smile. It was nice having people call her Laura, rather than sir, or madame president. Ms. Roslin was reserved for her students.]
Ah, yes. I'm not the one you'd want to talk to about that, however. Nathan Petrelli runs the department- [Laura was about to continue when she paused, looking at Leia and frowning.] Leia Organa... Are you related to Senator Bail Organa, by chance?
no subject
Han Solo.]Hm, Dad did mention Mr Petrelli before. I just haven't had the chance to meet him yet. Do you know where I might find him then?
[A little touch of pride is in her voice when she says 'Dad'. Organas tend to be rather...loving and not afraid to show it. Leia is no different if she's talking about family.]
I took over as senator for him when I was eighteen, but those were awfully big shoes to fill.
no subject
Senator is an inherited title where you're from? Odd. But, as for Nathan, he should be around, or, I suppose, walking the dogs in the oxygen garden.
no subject
[Despite Bail's desire to see her stay young and sweet. Ish. She's always been opinionated and headstrong.]
And, no, I was elected to my position. It was just that Dad groomed me to be his replacement. [Leia blinks in surprise at the second half of Laura's statement.] There are gardens here?
no subject
[Headstrong and opinionated women are the best. Come join the League of Badass Ladies From A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far Far Away Placed In Positions Of Political Power. You're the second member.]
I see. I was never elected into presidency. It was... thrust upon me, you could say.
There are. Oxygen gardens. They're absolutely beautiful.
no subject
I understand completely about having power thrust upon you. Somehow, I went from being on the council to the public face of an entire rebellion leadership. It's daunting sometimes.

[Leia knows it was the wisest move to make, but that doesn't mean she can't see the manipulation behind it.]
It was a great political move, but they wanted someone pliable. My father taught me too well for their tastes I sometimes think.
no subject
I believe we have more in common than I originally thought. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of Alderaan. [Leia, come, be on Team Colonial.]
no subject
[She's heard that for four years now. Everyone's sorry that Alderaan is gone, but it's rare they really understand the void that lives in Leia's chest because of it. Luke and Han are the only people she's allowed to see the sheer excruciating pain thinking of her home brings her. The only ones she trusts not to use it against her.
But there's something in the way this stranger holds herself the way she speaks, that Leia feels is utterly sincere in offering her sympathies. It's nice in a maddening sort of way. Only her father had come close to understanding before.
She gives Laura a sad, wistful smile.]
It's not something I'd wish on anyone, but I think you meant it. So thank you.

I've witnessed my own planet's destruction. Among others. [It's not a competition] it takes a great cruelty to destroy like that.
no subject
I agree. Cruelty and a selfish disregard for the welfare of anyone else. [Which was the perfect description of Palpatine and Tarkin if she'd never heard one.]
I am sorry that you had to got through such an ordeal. I was at least lucky enough to see the end of the...men responsible.

[At least one of the resurrection ships was gone]

It was just extremely satisfying to rid the galaxy of the most vile and decrepit creature I ever had the misfortune of meeting.
no subject
Thanks for that, Bill. Seriously.]
I can only imagine how satisfying that must have been, Leia. Though, I will tell you, when we escaped the Cylon rule on New Caprica, I granted immunity to those who had collaborated with them.
no subject
[Leia sighs as she looks around the department.]
As much as I love this time with my dad, this is not home, nor is it where I'm truly needed.
no subject
[Roslin follows Leia's glances around the department, frowning slightly.]
Once more, we understand each other, I believe.
