CHARACTERS: Elizabeth of York and EVERYONE
LOCATION: 1st floor kitchen + lounge room
WARNINGS: Nothing afaik, but this will be edited should anything arise!
SUMMARY: Last week, Lizzie issued the ship a formal invitation to a feast meant to lift their spirits after the events of the last few months. She's making good on her promise.
NOTES: I will be making sub-threads for food prep, the meal itself, and post-dinner hanging out and/or shenanigans.


( this occasion sees elizabeth in her natural element for a change, planning and organizing a social gathering. the familiarity is awesome and welcome, as much of a needed break from the angst of the past several jump cycles (months? years?) as she hopes the occasion itself will be for everyone attending. she can be found working hard in the first floor's kitchen from early in the day until the moment the meal is served; and then seated amongst friends while they eat. afterward, she will flit about and generally socialize with any and all who do not immediately leave after they have eaten.

where anyone might sit and how long they stay is entirely up to the character/player. if you would like anything specific involving elizabeth during or post-feast, let me know! )

I am glad! The food I am used to from home is often hearty in such a manner. Is it different, where you come from?

( secretly, she is also happy to see katniss' renewed appetite. she will finish recovering all the more swiftly for it. )

[ katniss nods, though she's always a little wary to talk about home, she finds it hard to resist talking about food. ]

My family didn't have much food, and in fact I don't think I've ever had the grain used in this dish. But if I caught a wild turkey and we had our grain allocation for the month, my mother made a similar sort of stew.

[ so familiar, but different. ]

Did you cook all this? You've done very well, given fresh ingredients are so limited here.

( at once, she is humbled into silence. she has lived in sanctuary, a condition that basically was squalor. basically. but nothing compared to what her people, and katniss and her people in her world must deal with, even if they were able to walk and live in the sun and see the sky overhead.

elizabeth hums softly, and frowns. )

Your people should have enough to eat properly. The ruler of your kingdom has a responsibility to see that it is so.

( she learned a very different type of governance from the vantage of her father's lap on the progress each year from that of the president of katniss' land. but the issues are very similar, as much as the cause is different. for she, too will one day need to ensure that her people are fed. )

I did not cook all of this alone, no. Several kind people lent me their aid. But I thank you, my lady. I endeavoured not to take too much food so as to endanger the supply here.
