SEC HQ
[ She's a hard worker, this one. When she's on shift, if she's not out actively patrolling, she's here, doing her best to keep her own 'paper'work filed, and maybe working on some of the backlog, too. Edgeworth's desk is still piled up and it grows every day. It's the least she can do, right? Sometimes she's just here on break, leafing through a book she's found in the library (although most of it goes right over her head, considering it all references things she has no idea about) or she's watching an episode of All My Universes on her comm. Isadora is crazy, isn't she!? ]

Oxygen Gardens/9th floor Kitchens
[ Running helps her keep her mind clear. It was one of the things she did back home when she was having a rough time with things, and here it provides her with a strange sense of comfort. A forest is a forest, even if the terrain is completely different. She does her best to stick to the main paths while she jogs, trying not to get in the way of anyone working or otherwise out. When she's done, she heads to the kitchens for a bottle of water, sitting on the counter and drinking it with her eyes closed. She needs to go to the showers next, but the breather is nice. So she's savoring it. ]

[ Allison thinks a lot of it. So much, in fact, that she nearly stumbles when she's running when the wolf passes her and she has to stop for a second, scrubbing at her eyes because... is she seeing things? SHe just barely manages to catch the tail end of the wolf (no pun intended) and decides to follow. Because that's a good idea. It's likely someone's pet, but... but what if?

So when the girl pops out of the shadows, she is spooked, and she stumbles to a stop again after letting out a loud yelp. Her hand flies up to her mouth, and Allison takes a deep breath. ] Sorry, sorry. Um. [ She hesitates for a second, and then just decides to ask. ]

Did you see a wolf go by here? I'm starting to think I'm going crazy.

[Hayley eyes her for a moment, but she's not sure if she's trying to trick her or just honestly confused.]

What kind of wolf? [She tugs the bottom of her shirt down a bit more and glances back to where her boots are. She needs those.]

[ Allison glances when Hayley does -- and starts to put pieces together. But it's not her secret to reveal. She's clearly suspicious, though. ] Just a wolf. Grey. It ran past me while I was on the trail, and I think it got loose from someone.

Why would you assume it's owned by someone? [Not that it isn't a possibility -- Arya had a wolf, as did Robb.

She shakes her head.]

Don't worry. I'm sure it's fine. [She forgoes her shoes, despite how odd it might look, and moves toward her with an offered hand.]

I'm Hayley.

Because I've never seen wild animals on the ship before now. So it has to be someones. [ Or, you know, someone. Allison takes Hayley's hand easily.]

What do you think happens to the pets when people end up leaving here?

[Not that it matters.]

It's good to meet you, Allison. Have you been on board long?

[ She ticks off her fingers as she counts in her head. ] About eight jumps? And at least in my experience people take them in. [ At the very least, Ned does. ] Or they go home with their owners. There's nothing native here.

[She makes a thoughtful sound. She's pretty sure that there are definitely things here that aren't owned by people -- though, the manticores and other such beasts aren't exactly "pet" quality and she's definitely unsure of their "native" status.]

Any familiar faces from your home here?

[ Allison nods. ] Yeah, a bunch of us, actually. Stiles, Lydia, Isaac, Derek, Cora, Liam... [ And then it hits her that Hayley probably has no idea who any of those people are, and she lets out a soft, self deprecating laugh. ] Sorry. What about you? Are you alone?

[She lifts an eyebrow at the names that get dropped. She waits a moment, then shakes her head.]

Sorry - no. I mean, there have been, a few times even, but right now I'm pretty sure it's just me. [She waits a moment.] I know them. Well, not all of them, but a few of them.

I'm a werewolf. The - the wolf you saw -- that was me.

[ She doesn't look scared or shocked or even upset. Just nods once like her suspicions are being confirmed (because they are). ] Your secret is safe with me. You... can go full wolf? Whenever you want?

[ None of the ones she knows can do that, is the underlying statement there, and she's curious. ]

Well, I was born a werewolf - but now I'm a hybrid. That lets me control my shift whenever I want. I have access to all my abilities all the time and a few others.

[She shrugs.] It's a vampire and werewolf thing. Apparently, it's a slightly unique thing from my world.

...Vampire and werewolf? [ Vampires are a thing? ]

[Hayley nods.]

Yeah... I know vampires aren't a thing in Beacon Hills. I've heard that a few times.

Well, not that we know of. Last year I would have told you werewolves weren't possible either, and here we are. [ She tries to smile a little at that, but it also brings up bad memories so it comes out more forced than she means it to. ] Anything is possible.

[Hayley nods.]

Where I'm from there's a lot more magic in the world, I guess. Witches, hybrids, doppelgangers, vampires -- it's sort of a melting pot of the supernatural.

Beacon Hills is... a beacon. [ She ponders. ] But we just get the garden variety werewolves and the like. Nothing too special.

Yeah, I've actually learned a lot about your town. [Sharing memories with a few choice people gave her a pretty good idea of what's there.]
