i want to live where soul meets body; (open log)
CHARACTERS: Allison Argent and you!
LOCATION: Open starters at SEC HQ, the gardens, the kitchens, misc
WARNINGS: N/A (will update if necessary)
SUMMARY: an open log for most of march.
NOTES: Let me know if you want a specific starter for you, or leave one of your own! Feel free to interrupt the prompts at any time, too, they're not set in stone.
SEC HQ
[ She's a hard worker, this one. When she's on shift, if she's not out actively patrolling, she's here, doing her best to keep her own 'paper'work filed, and maybe working on some of the backlog, too. Edgeworth's desk is still piled up and it grows every day. It's the least she can do, right? Sometimes she's just here on break, leafing through a book she's found in the library (although most of it goes right over her head, considering it all references things she has no idea about) or she's watching an episode of All My Universes on her comm. Isadora is crazy, isn't she!? ]
Oxygen Gardens/9th floor Kitchens
[ Running helps her keep her mind clear. It was one of the things she did back home when she was having a rough time with things, and here it provides her with a strange sense of comfort. A forest is a forest, even if the terrain is completely different. She does her best to stick to the main paths while she jogs, trying not to get in the way of anyone working or otherwise out. When she's done, she heads to the kitchens for a bottle of water, sitting on the counter and drinking it with her eyes closed. She needs to go to the showers next, but the breather is nice. So she's savoring it. ]

He figures it's time he went and volunteered at Sec. When crap goes down, he's got a gun in his hands and his ass in the halls anyway, might as well do it with some kinda official capacity. Be on the rosters or whatever, and get the priveledge of trust that comes along with the responsibility.
It just so happens Allygator's manning the front desk when he arrives, which he figures is a good thing. Hell of a lot easier to kickstart this thing with someone he knows than someone he doesn't, so he ambles up to her desk and taps on it absently with his fingertips. ]
Hey, kid. Think you could tell me a thing or two about getting recruited?

Guess it helps a little that it's for the security department, but still.
An eyebrow lifts a little skeptically at that last part, though, because... seriously, how hard could the training possibly be? Unless they're throwing him through walls for six hours a day, he's pretty sure he can hack it. ]
What kinda training are we talkin' here?
no subject
If you're up for the challenge, she's the one you want to talk to. Otherwise I can just show you around HQ and make sure it's something you really want to do. [ Allison pauses, thinking for a moment. ] Honestly, it'd be nice to have the extra help. There aren't that many of us, and the ship is huge and we have so many people on it. A lot of us are working a lot of overtime.
[ Tyke's the person she has in mind when she says this, but Allison hasn't exactly been giving up shifts, herself. ]

SEC HQ 10 4 good buddy
[--Than paperwork, he means. The paperwork that Allison is working at while Sirius, meanwhile--a contributor to that stack of paperwork, less of a contributor on the other end of actually processing the paperwork--Sirius is laid across the sofa.
Yes, there is a sofa, thanks Sirius' tireless petitioning all those months ago. It's more the size of a loveseat. Sometimes it might seem larger, as if extended, occasionally, by magic. Technically on duty but more network-watching than patrolling-the-hallways duty, Sirius rolls onto his side to watch Allison a little more directly. He's been watching her out of the corner of his eye this whole time, occasionally making conversation, or offering commentary--but enough's enough.]
Ask me what it is. Go on, ask!
roger that
In fact, she's got half a mind to pretend like she didn't hear him this time, too, but she's also curious. So she sets the pad she's working on down and turns to face him, face skeptical. ] I'm afraid to.
no subject
[Tone incredulous, he raises his eyebrows at her.]
I don't believe it, there's no way. I dunno that you know fear. [Which is high Gryffindor praise, so: you're welcome.] Come on, guess!

it wasn't working out so well in practice, to put it lightly. ]
So how about now? [ she asks, sitting slouched over with her eyes level with the desk. she peers up at allison for a moment, eyebrows raised, then lightly flicks a balled up scrap of paper at the other girl. ] Come on, I just want to look around the ship a bit.
it tru
[ It's not like the stack is going anywhere. ]
:* :*
Great! [ she's up on her feet pretty much instantly, flashing a grin at allison as her hands settle on her hips and she tips her head towards the door. ] Uh, well I've heard there's like a 'rec center' thing around somewhere? That could be interesting, right?

I didn't want to spook you.

So when the girl pops out of the shadows, she is spooked, and she stumbles to a stop again after letting out a loud yelp. Her hand flies up to her mouth, and Allison takes a deep breath. ] Sorry, sorry. Um. [ She hesitates for a second, and then just decides to ask. ]
Did you see a wolf go by here? I'm starting to think I'm going crazy.
no subject
What kind of wolf? [She tugs the bottom of her shirt down a bit more and glances back to where her boots are. She needs those.]

[ A pause. ] Have I?

[ Which makes no judgment on the amount that Allison may or may not have been working. She pulls up a chair, getting comfortable. She has little room to talk about overworking, with how determined she's been about the mapping software. ]

how about a running partner
especially since he hasn't been to lacrosse practice in... wow. a really really long time.
which means he's kind of wheezing and awful and miserable as he tries to keep pace beside her because he might have been given long legs but he never exactly learned how to use them well and allison is scary fit besides. he almost trips half a dozen times, and it's only through the miracle of flailing limbs that he manages to keep to his feet each time.
BUT HE'S KEEPING UP WITH HER DAMNIT.]

she is walking down the pathway while still keeping alert to her surrounding mostly out of habit when she crosses paths with allison who happens to be jogging to which she is quick to side step out of her way just in case] Hey— sorry if I was in your way at all. [clarke didn't know her name but she definitely recognizes her since she was one of the people who brigged both raven and finn just the other jump]
no subject
Shaking her head, Allison smiles -- there's recognition there, even if Allison doesn't know her name. ] You were fine. It's not like I own the path. [ She moves to head on and then stops, tilting her head to the side. ]
You're friends with Raven Reyes, right? Is she doing alright?
