SEC HQ
[ She's a hard worker, this one. When she's on shift, if she's not out actively patrolling, she's here, doing her best to keep her own 'paper'work filed, and maybe working on some of the backlog, too. Edgeworth's desk is still piled up and it grows every day. It's the least she can do, right? Sometimes she's just here on break, leafing through a book she's found in the library (although most of it goes right over her head, considering it all references things she has no idea about) or she's watching an episode of All My Universes on her comm. Isadora is crazy, isn't she!? ]


Oxygen Gardens/9th floor Kitchens
[ Running helps her keep her mind clear. It was one of the things she did back home when she was having a rough time with things, and here it provides her with a strange sense of comfort. A forest is a forest, even if the terrain is completely different. She does her best to stick to the main paths while she jogs, trying not to get in the way of anyone working or otherwise out. When she's done, she heads to the kitchens for a bottle of water, sitting on the counter and drinking it with her eyes closed. She needs to go to the showers next, but the breather is nice. So she's savoring it. ]

[ she doesn't even try to hide how pleased she is when allison sets down the datapad. truth be told she's felt a little lost since arriving on the ship, and even though allison is one of the few people from beacon hills that she hadn't really known prior to arriving here, the other girl did also kind of save her from mass exposition/loss of control on arrival. and for no reason other than because she could, as well, so malia likes allison quite a bit already. who knew it just took selfless acts that posed a real danger to oneself to win her over, huh? ]

Great! [ she's up on her feet pretty much instantly, flashing a grin at allison as her hands settle on her hips and she tips her head towards the door. ] Uh, well I've heard there's like a 'rec center' thing around somewhere? That could be interesting, right?

[ Allison stands up with her and shuts down the terminal, grabbing her comm and sticking it into her pocket. ] Oh, I've been there a couple of times. It's not bad. There's a huge swimming pool and a gym.

[punchings]

Is there actually anything this place didn't think of? [ it's only partially a sarcastic comment - she's got a healthy dose of judgement reserved for anything spooky/creepy like this that kidnaps people on a whim, but to be fair they have covered almost every need. ] Maybe the big bad puppet masters want us too busy swimming laps to figure out why we're here.

[ that part is sarcastic - albeit a joke, and she grins as she gestures to the door. ] Lead the way.

[ Allison huffs out a laugh -- Malia really has been spending a lot of time with Stiles -- and shrugs off her comment. ] I don't think it was meant for us? We're not the original crew, and some of the original crew members are still around. [ If, you know, annoyingly hard to find. ]

But you're probably right. They seem pretty content to keep us in the dark. And swimming is a pretty good distraction.

[punchings]

This place sounds like the films I don't want to watch. [ how very dismissive, malia. if there's anyone who's going to be figuring out this whole puzzle and getting everyone home, it's...clearly not going to be her. frankly, it's not the kind of problem solving she's interested in jumping into.

distractions, though. tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theories be damned, she's far more interested in not being bored out of her damn mind -- she's here pestering allison after all, it's pretty clear where malia's priorities lie. ] What made you actually...get a job? It's not required, right? You don't have to be here if you don't want to.

[ Allison walks slowly, considering her answer for a while. ] I just don't like sitting around. I felt like I could help out, so I talked to Tyke about signing up. Sec seemed to be the only thing I'd probably be good at.

[punchings]

...That makes sense. [ the answer seems to satisfy her curiosity, at least for the moment, and she falls silent as she wanders next to allison, keeping pace with her-

and then promptly turns with a slightly contemplative look on her face. yep, more questions. ] What is there, here? You know, these 'jobs'. 'Cause I mean, it is pretty boring sitting around here. I could be good at something?

Well. [ Allison has to think for a moment because she doesn't quite remember them all. If she minds the questions, she doesn't sound like it. (She doesn't mind.) ] There's Sec. We're kind of like police. We could always use more help. And you might be a good fit in gunnery, as a trainee? You'd have to learn how to use a gun, but I could teach you or Jax could teach you.

[ Someone in Gunnery could do it, that was the entire point of being a trainee, right? ] There's also general support -- they kind of run around filling holes in other departments. I think Cora works in the Medbay.
