SEC HQ
[ She's a hard worker, this one. When she's on shift, if she's not out actively patrolling, she's here, doing her best to keep her own 'paper'work filed, and maybe working on some of the backlog, too. Edgeworth's desk is still piled up and it grows every day. It's the least she can do, right? Sometimes she's just here on break, leafing through a book she's found in the library (although most of it goes right over her head, considering it all references things she has no idea about) or she's watching an episode of All My Universes on her comm. Isadora is crazy, isn't she!? ]


Oxygen Gardens/9th floor Kitchens
[ Running helps her keep her mind clear. It was one of the things she did back home when she was having a rough time with things, and here it provides her with a strange sense of comfort. A forest is a forest, even if the terrain is completely different. She does her best to stick to the main paths while she jogs, trying not to get in the way of anyone working or otherwise out. When she's done, she heads to the kitchens for a bottle of water, sitting on the counter and drinking it with her eyes closed. She needs to go to the showers next, but the breather is nice. So she's savoring it. ]

[ Allison slows down as she approaches Clarke, and stops fully when the other girl speaks. She needs to catch her breath, anyway and now is as good a time as any.

Shaking her head, Allison smiles -- there's recognition there, even if Allison doesn't know her name. ] You were fine. It's not like I own the path. [ She moves to head on and then stops, tilting her head to the side. ]

You're friends with Raven Reyes, right? Is she doing alright?

[romancekiller]

[clarke was just trying to be polite by apologizing just in case even though she knew the other girl had a point. when allison slows down, coming to a stop near her, clarke just nods at the question] Oh, yeah. I'm friends with Raven— [her friendship with raven was still not the same as it was but they were talking now at least which was an improvement] She's doing okay, she's been keeping herself busy with engineering for the most part.

[overdraws]

That's good. I just hadn't seen much of her since -- [ Well, you know. And Allison could tell that, more or less, Raven was a good person. She'd hoped that Raven had stayed out of trouble. ] Anyway. I'm glad she's doing okay.

[ Allison thinks for a moment, debating whether or not to ask, but she's curious. ] Why did she attack him in the first place?

[romancekiller]

[clarke looks slightly hesitant at first hearing the question because while she was asking about raven, it was still a sensitive topic for her too.

she forces herself to keep herself composed enough to respond though] It's complicated— it kind of had to do with something that happened back home.

[overdraws]

[ And Allison nods at that. She understands precisely why Clarke's not getting into it, and she won't pry. After all, Allison's got her own people from home to deal with. ] You don't have to tell me. At least he isn't here anymore...?

[romancekiller]

[clarke appreciate the fact allison doesn't pry with her non answer but hearing those words, it seems to hit clarke a bit too hard for two reasons. the first being that he was gone and the last being that she'll never see him again outside of this ship because even now it still hasn't stopped hurting] Oh— well I wouldn't exactly say that given what he has to go back to.

[overdraws]

[ She tilts her head to the side. ] Oh. One of those kinds of places, huh?

[romancekiller]

[she gives a small nod, not really clarifying beyond that and just going along with her response] Yeah, pretty much.

[after another moment, she decides to change the subject a bit by introducing herself] My name is Clarke, by the way.

[overdraws]

Oh, god, I'm so sorry. Allison. [ She holds a hand out. ] I probably should've said that first before grilling you about your friend.

[romancekiller]

It's okay really— [she shakes allison's offered hand and smiles] It's nice to meet you, Allison. [there initial meeting might have been a bit awkward with the whole brigging of her friends but at least now she has a name to go by]

[overdraws]

[ And now it's slightly awkward. ] It's nice to meet you too. Do you come here often?

[romancekiller]

Oh— [she gives a small nod at the question] Yeah, I do come to the gardens quite a bit. It reminds me of being on the ground.

[overdraws]

The ground?

[romancekiller]

I meant Earth, sorry— a bit of a habit, I guess from being in space before.

[overdraws]

Oh! [ She's curious now! ] Is it the same? As being here, I mean.

[romancekiller]

Not quite but the fact the ship has something like this? It's the familiar feel of it that's similar. [the trees, the grass, the wildlife around and even the air. she sometimes wondered what her father would think because of how this could have easily solved the issues with the ark]

[overdraws]

Were you born in space?

[romancekiller]

[she nods at the question] Yeah, I was born there.

[overdraws]

You must feel at home here, then.

[romancekiller]

Actually after being on Earth? It kind of feels a bit strange to be back in a sense.

[overdraws]

Like being home, but in a bad way?

[romancekiller]

Yeah, it's definitely something like that. [she may have been born in space but it was the ground she considered to be home even with all the terrible things that she's experienced and the things she's had to do to survive]
