Jake: Do the bromantic thing and meet IRL.
CHARACTERS: Jake English, Dirk Strider, Dave Strider and possibly Davesprite.
LOCATION: 004 » 097; Dirk's room.
WARNINGS: Jake and Striders are in this post.
SUMMARY: *BROMANTIC REUNION!* Jake and Dirk finally meet in real life and I guess talk about stuff and be one big awkward family together.
NOTES: Closed to the characters above. Log still in progress. Action or prose style okay with me.
It wasn't particularly easy for Jake to calm his nipples as Auto Responder so politely put it. In fact, he hadn't even noticed that was Auto Responder was the one he was talking to. Instead, he figured he was talking to Dirk himself. Actual Dirk Strider. You would think that by now he would be able to tell the difference between the two; A.R certainly had a way with words and getting Jake flustered, that was certain. A.R always sort of made him uncomfortable in the times that they bonded since Dirk was so difficult to get a hold of and Jake seemed to enjoy pestering Dirk a lot.
And yet, something was just so endearing about Auto Responder. But we're not going to expound on that.
He doesn't reply to the responder or Dave as he scurries out of his room and enthusiastically goes down the corridors, wiping his nose against the back of his left palm which clutched one of his Beretta 9MMs. The excitement of being around people was practically unbearable. And to top it all off like icing on the cake, his best bro was aboard this craft too; somebody he never thought he would have the pleasure of meeting face to face so simply since they lived in different time periods.
But then again, then there was just the excitement of being aboard a space craft in actual space in actual space suits that made him feel uncomfortable... like actual space suits should do like in all of the movies he watched. He actually would probably sell his soul right now for a simple pair of cargo shorts if he could despite the fact he thought the jumpsuits were cool. They just seemed nothing like wearing shorts since that's pretty much what he grew up wearing.
Nevertheless, Jake is still on high alert and possibly feeling a bit woozy from the jump. Perhaps not completely in his right mind yet. He's wearing a few battle wounds caused by his sparring robot who had just finished kicking his ass before his arrival, but he wears them with pride as he typically does when losing a round of fisticuffs. He also cannot help but feel a little sick at his stomach from everything that is happening at once and the nerves of actually having to talk to people like normal citizens do. Sure, he had grandma he could converse with before she died and that was who knows how long ago.. but never anything like this.
It's practically overwhelming.
The fact he was simply brought into space like some action sci-fi horror movie that he's probably watched countless amounts of times was enough to get him all riled up.
And the fact he's met Mystique over the network almost sent him in cardiac arrest. It was going to be a challenge to settle him down and it hadn't really processed in his head that he might have to watch his behavior a bit because, hell, he's not on an island anymore.
The teen parades down the hallways with both of his pistols, not really hiding them or keeping them out of sight. His eyes flicker back to back, the tip of his tongue flicking out to press against the busted corner of his lip. Everything is so interesting and intriguing and there are actually people here that he can talk to and it's.
Damn.
It's so much. He's practically a kid in a candy store. What does this and that do? Is that a light over there? A wire over here? What happens if you jump up and down on this pathway?
Pretty soon, Jake is too distracted and he only makes it halfway to Dirk's room before he's actually climbing on something.

No, he's got to make sure that nothing happens, that's all. ]
That's also something useful about the tattoos. It opens your locker, opens your room, and also marks just how long you've been here. [ There's something to be said about people whose tattoos have changed after being deposited back into their home worlds only to return after a jump or so. Whatever, it's not important right now.
To Jake: ] And I guess that my bro told you where my room is, so we should probably catch up sometime. It's not like the responder can block you if we're talking in person, you know?

That makes three Striders. Four, if you count that dman Auto-Responder. It would certainly be something if Brobot somehow found his way on the ship too. Jake wasn't sure if he could handle being trolled by all of them, since he was perfect victim to fall for those sort of things... and he was aware of that.
Anyhow, Davesprite seems to be the one who hasn't really messed with him yet since hes certain Dirk put on A.R purposely. Jake gives Davesprite a look. He's good in his book.
His attention draws back to Dirk after taken in all that information, and a smile replaces his stupid dumbfounded look he had as he was just stupidly listening.
An actual invitation from actual Dirk. Very nice. He makes it known it's something to look forward to, allowing himself to shift over to Dirk's side and give him a playful punch on the bicep. ]
Brilliant! I'm sure we both have our exchange of words; things we need to get off of our chests and all of that to converse about. Since you happen to be the busy one here, perhaps you can set up a time for us to meet.
[ Yeah. You do all the work, Dirk. He just assumes you're a busy man here since you were back at home.
Jake rolls on his heels, still smiling faintly as he looks at Dave and Davesprite. He's going to ignore his filter and be honest here again. ]
And as unsettling as you two seem to make me, I both consider you to be fine gents and we should also have our share of communication aboard this voyage if it isn't too much to ask. I wouldn't mind having counterparts.
I do appreciate all of this chit chatting, though. It has been rather informative and helpful.

/just nods at Jake ] Sure.
I guess we got this stuff all sorted out, so I don't know if you guys are gonna hang out or whatever, but it's time for me to peace out. Later.
