( open! ) i know the sun must set to rise;
CHARACTERS: Caroline Forbes and YOU.
LOCATION: Kitchens. She's mostly hanging the sixth floor kitchen, but will go kitchen-exploring.
WARNINGS: None. Caroline's bored, so dumb stuff inside.
SUMMARY: To cure boredom, Caroline's practicing her innovative tea making skills. Which aren't really innovative at all. And could possibly be checking out the kitchens between the floors to see if there's any differences in food between them. Blood diets are great, but those killing people urges need to go.
NOTES: Backdated to July 22/23. Bumping into her can happen over these two days. Prose or action spam, idc.
[ there's not much to do on a space ship besides turn blue, get eaten, or be invaded. caroline's not quite sure what she's meant to make out of getting half of her wardrobe from home in her locker during the last jump. but she's donning something that isn't the ugly space jumpsuit for once. she kind of wishes a few blood bags (or several) had appeared, but a girl can't complain when she gets her creature comforts instead.
caroline's in the kitchen of floor six with a few tea cups out and a few tea bags. she knows supplies aren't exactly plentiful while on the ship, so she's determined to be spaceship friendly in her bid to make some interesting teas. she's gotten herself involved in hatter's tea shop, which is something she's finding distracting and good, but she's put herself up to the task in making the best tea ever. caroline doesn't do things half-assed.
over these two days, she can be found in this kitchen trying to find out how to make tea that isn't just the regular old tea that her mother used to drink. and if someone just so happens to be wandering through the other kitchens, she has her nose in a cupboard or in a pantry looking through the items in there, mentally comparing the sixth floor kitchen to this one. caroline's main diet consists of blood, blood, and more blood, but eating regular food knocks back the intense eating-people cravings. she's not stealing food per se, but she wants to know which kitchen to raid when she's hungry. ]

Of course not. [There's a hint of affection in his tone at her resistance. He could have her on her knees before she could blink. His hand snakes out to catch her wrist as she turns her back to him, gently pulling to turn her around. His grip isn't constricting, but firm.
You respond to threats, just like the rest of them.]
Caroline - would you be so kind as to make me a cup of tea? [The tone is pleasant, but there's a coolness to it. His grin is almost wicked.] Please.

[ well, he did ask nicely, even though she's pretty sure he was being condescending. and threatening. she responds better to threats made against the people she cares about, not herself. with a glance to her wrist ] I'm going to need my hand back if you want it some time today.
[ and nope.jpg is she asking what kind of tea he'll take. her foot up the ass is only on special on wednesdays. ]

After releasing her he leans back against the counter to watch her with that same pleased look on his face.]
No sugar for me, love.

she gets to making it, like a brat. ] I didn't think you could keep it down. [ anything that isn't bitter, she thinks klaus can't handle it. which makes perfect sense, since she's always so mean to him and he keeps coming back. she's acting all disinterested, like this is a big massive task for her, like being in the same room as him is such a big burden. ]
Do you like it black? [ can you hear the kind of like your heart, klaus? ]

A teaspoon of O negative would be lovely. [He says this with good humor. His eyes are burning holes into the back of her head, but he doesn't move.]

with a rather put-on sigh: ] You're really high maintenance with your tea. Whatever happened to a dash of sugar and a stir of the spoon?

I could show you. [With him she could unlearn all of those bad habits Stefan taught her. It must already be wearing her down to live that way here, stuck in an enclosed space, surrounded by so many bodies.]

[ she doesn't look at him. that should be a sign of her pretending she doesn't know what he's talking about. she's only good at acting when it counts, and since this isn't technically a life and death situation - bad assessment there, caroline - she therefore has so many tells they're not exactly a secret. but, in the end, she'll pass. big block letters of passing. the reason why she doesn't feast on humans like damon and klaus is because she likes to pretend she's still caroline, heartbeat intact and wrinkles pending. she also fears she'll turn into stefan, being a bloodaholic. the moments she allowed herself a taste made her more scared of what she was than her reflection. ]
I think you're showing me that right now.
