Ianto had managed to get the holodeck to simulate what was probably meant to be a 21st-century pub in Britain. The details were just a bit off, but for the most part it got the job done, and what it summed up to was a cozy, dim atmosphere with music on the speakers and the murmur of idle chatter in the background. None of the people were real and neither was the booze, but there was nonetheless some comforting familiarity in it all. Hopefully some people would decide to show up soon, and maybe they'd bring some real alcohol. He'd settle for real company, though.

Jack stepped into the holodeck, shaking his head. "Of all of the different places you could pick to have a birthday party, you went for a British pub?" he questioned aloud, calling out over the idle chatter and the low droning of the music as he made his way over to where Ianto had set himself up in the midst of it.
