Those on their way to meet a friend at dinner, or heading to their department, may never reach their intended destination. Instead, characters will find themselves in an unfamiliar part of the ship, abruptly stranded. All attempts to access the elevator will prove fruitless, as the doors cannot be pried open and the lift will not respond when called. It looks like you have no where to go but forward. Hallways will connect only to other hallways, giving you the impression that you're always on your way somewhere- but can't quite manage to arrive. Time spent in the hallways will seem endless, but with luck you may find a break in the monotony. It is possible for characters to find one another, which would be preferable, as it's probably safer traveling in groups. Those that spend an excessive amount of time in their own company will find themselves feeling increasingly hostile and paranoid, until even the walls seem to be watching. That may not be such an exaggeration, with those murals that continually appear... |

Notice the murals yet?

[But he's thankful to see someone else, orange glow and all. But the situation seems even less promising now, if a guy who can go through walls is still lost.]
The paintings on the walls? Yeah. Any idea who painted them? They're unsettling, and that's putting it mildly.

[Merlin glances back over his shoulder - whatever direction that is.]
Would you mind walking with me for a bit? I can't go through walls or anything. [And he sounds apologetic for that.] It's just been awhile since I've seen anyone else.
no subject
[Davesprite turns back to him with a bit of relief.] It's uh, been a few days since I've seen anyone. Call me Dave or Davesprite I guess, both are accurate.
no subject
[Well that sounds ominous.]
Not that I think anything bad's happened to them! We just got separated. And I'm Merlin, nice to meet you Dave. How long have you been on board?
no subject
You? [There's a pause because that had sounded a little ominous there, dude.] But yeah, they're probably fine.
no subject
[Obviously, he thought wrong.]
So something like this happened before? Did anyone die?
[A little ominous himself.]
no subject
[He shrugs as it occurs to him he didn't answer the question.] Nah. I mean, I don't think they did? Usually there's a recording played on the network then Sherlock goes 'I want to look at the body' in some really shady as shit way. ...if he's still here.
[They're* just not going to stop sounding ominous this whole time, are they.]
no subject
[And Merlin already thought that the blue goop was disgusting. But at least there were no casualties, and that's something. Assuming that's true this time around as well.]
no subject
[And it bothers him. One body could make sense, but then there are the manticores.]
The first maze, [He continues as if he didn't just mention the dead.] was the first time anyone saw those creatures that prowl the unused sections of the ship.
