EVENT; LIFTS & CORRIDORS

CHARACTERS: Ensemble production!
LOCATION: The Corridors.
WARNINGS: Space crazy, violence, etc.
SUMMARY: You may have simply been taking the lift with passerbys, but now you're hopelessly lost.
NOTES: Notes on the corridors.

Those on their way to meet a friend at dinner, or heading to their department, may never reach their intended destination. Instead, characters will find themselves in an unfamiliar part of the ship, abruptly stranded. All attempts to access the elevator will prove fruitless, as the doors cannot be pried open and the lift will not respond when called. It looks like you have no where to go but forward. Hallways will connect only to other hallways, giving you the impression that you're always on your way somewhere- but can't quite manage to arrive.

Time spent in the hallways will seem endless, but with luck you may find a break in the monotony. It is possible for characters to find one another, which would be preferable, as it's probably safer traveling in groups. Those that spend an excessive amount of time in their own company will find themselves feeling increasingly hostile and paranoid, until even the walls seem to be watching. That may not be such an exaggeration, with those murals that continually appear...

It's just something I can do. Most walls here let me pass right on through. Only restricted areas seem to give me any grief. To answer the question, I'm not human. Don't operate by the same laws and shit. [He shrugs and frowns as his eyes settle on the mural on the far wall. Davesprite increases his glow so he can get a better look at it. It's not much to write home about and the same as the hallway he just left. Creepy and horror genre'd.]

Notice the murals yet?

Yeah, I puzzled that bit out already.

[But he's thankful to see someone else, orange glow and all. But the situation seems even less promising now, if a guy who can go through walls is still lost.]

The paintings on the walls? Yeah. Any idea who painted them? They're unsettling, and that's putting it mildly.
realslimstrider: (Sure whatever.)

No idea who made these, but the theme... [Suggested things. Bad things. He frowns and shakes his head.] Anyway, I've been moving through halls at a pretty steady rate working my way west. Which direction did you come from?

Uhm. That one.

[Merlin glances back over his shoulder - whatever direction that is.]

Would you mind walking with me for a bit? I can't go through walls or anything. [And he sounds apologetic for that.] It's just been awhile since I've seen anyone else.
realslimstrider: (Oh.)

[personal profile] realslimstrider 2013-02-25 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[He glances back the way Merlin came and dims his glow enough that it doesn't blind the glow.] Sure, I can do that. Playing snakes and ladders just got me way more lost than I already was.

[Davesprite turns back to him with a bit of relief.] It's uh, been a few days since I've seen anyone. Call me Dave or Davesprite I guess, both are accurate.

Same here. I've lost a couple of companions.

[Well that sounds ominous.]

Not that I think anything bad's happened to them! We just got separated. And I'm Merlin, nice to meet you Dave. How long have you been on board?

[Interesting name.] I've been here for months. Got here on the seventh jump, in time for the first 'hey, it's a maze you should go run in and find the end of it'.

You? [There's a pause because that had sounded a little ominous there, dude.] But yeah, they're probably fine.

Just a few months. I thought I was getting used to things.

[Obviously, he thought wrong.]

So something like this happened before? Did anyone die?

[A little ominous himself.]
realslimstrider: (They got this shit.)

[personal profile] realslimstrider 2013-02-28 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there was some disease in the blue goop we have to deal with every jump. So everyone was getting sick and having nerve issues that made them run into walls. It got worse and worse, but the 'cure' was beyond some maze. Which led to the science labs.

[He shrugs as it occurs to him he didn't answer the question.] Nah. I mean, I don't think they did? Usually there's a recording played on the network then Sherlock goes 'I want to look at the body' in some really shady as shit way. ...if he's still here.

[They're* just not going to stop sounding ominous this whole time, are they.]

That sounds disgusting.

[And Merlin already thought that the blue goop was disgusting. But at least there were no casualties, and that's something. Assuming that's true this time around as well.]
realslimstrider: (Taken a lifetime to lose my way.)

[personal profile] realslimstrider 2013-03-02 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you have no idea. [Some people had looked awful but, he'd looked like some horrible mess of blue and yellow. It didn't even have the decency to turn green when his blood and the disease mixed.] There's been other things since then, but like I said. Every death has this funny habit of being recorded, or a body discovered.

[And it bothers him. One body could make sense, but then there are the manticores.]

The first maze, [He continues as if he didn't just mention the dead.] was the first time anyone saw those creatures that prowl the unused sections of the ship.
