Camping may not be an expected activity on a spaceship, but the gardens are large and have clear, grassy areas for people to gather together. You can help set up tents, inventory supplies or guard the perimeter — just keep an eye out for any strange faces trying to sneak in... |

So when Legolas finally finds his father napping, he slips off to bring back a handful of fruits for when Thranduil happens to wake. At any other time he might sit next to his father and wait it out (for no reason in particular, other than.. simply because he can), but while he isn't in any rush, there are things to do and many more people to look after now. As much as he'd like to do otherwise, his father is only one of those many.

For a moment he debates prying the hand off.. but settles for resting his own hand over Thranduil's instead, not wanting to do anything that might force him awake.

"My apologies if I woke you, father. I had not meant to, for how tired you must be." He speaks softly as Elves do, and for some semblance of privacy. Idly, he picks up the fallen fruit and arranges a neat pile between them, then takes one off the top to hold out. There's only a bit of worry, though more for his father and less for the people the spell is protecting.

"I am less tired now. I can eat." He reaches for the offered fruit, more because of the worry on Legolas' face than because he is hungry.

"Will you?" Mother isn't here to heckle them, and Thranduil won't heckle himself. Legolas isn't heckling, though. "When you need to."
He's just.. nudging. With a mildly mollified smile and a pile of fruit that Thranduil clearly would not eat all of in a single sitting.

Once Legolas has eaten most of the apricot, he speaks again. "Jim Kirk and I have collaborated on a mission. I would like you to take part in the scouting party to find the Scylla."

He looks up when Thranduil speaks again. The first thing that goes through his mind is but I have duties in the gardens, which is quickly and quite thoroughly swamped by the instinctive and immediate-- "Yes, of course. When?"

"I will wait for your word, then. I take it there will be others involved as well?"

"I hope both of your choices can cooperate with one another. Or learn to, at any rate."
